Livermore Valley Charter School has an obligation to reach decisions on sound business practices and in the best interest of the children. The board of directors officially endorses the wrong doing from the LVCS administration once again. In November 2006 they found Principal Tina Morris had done nothing wrong in publicly humiliating a half dozen middle school students. They chose to turn their eyes while the executive director recounted election ballots AGAIN. Now they condone LG rebuilding his own portfolio with our hard earned money. We should feel comfortable with the board’s findings, WHY? LG transfers hundreds of thousands of dollars between several banks from which he personally benefits. He receives commission on each transaction. Did you know he had his insurance license and changed the medical, dental, retirement, and life policies of all LVCS staff in the middle of the year? Did you know he failed to mention he would personally benefit on each policy annually. Did you know in the December 2006 board minutes LG blames EdTec for making mistakes, which changed the reserve downward? What about those missing checks EdTech was trying to find Mr. Executive Director? It does shed some light as to why he would be in such a hurry to buy the out of their contract for 70k! How many corporations is he in charge of? Records show his hand in several pots, LCLC, Livermore National Little League, on and on!
Laws are to governed and enforced not changed as needed for ones own benefit.
How many times will he be aloud to change the outcome of an election? He should be banned entirely from all future elections. It is a privilege to vote in the United States of America, it is a crime to tamper with the election process in any way.
JUST HOW MANY TONS OF DETERGENT WILL IT TAKE TO CLEAN UP AFTER HIS LAUNDERING!!! SHOUT FOR JUSTICE!!

When it comes to finances this guy can't wink and chew gum at the same time. Why would any organization or company place trust in a person who can't manage their own finances? George McGovern wanted to be our President. After he failed to win he bought a motel and failed with this business, then filed bankruptcy.Cheap advice, Mr. Goldstein..Get into politics. You will find a home!

There was a comment from a previous article defending Mr. Goldstein saying that his past is the past and shouldn't be taken into consideration. Aren't we all judged by our past performances when being evaluated on whether or not we can perform our duties? Isn't that what a resume' is for and the reason why we do background checks especially for such a high ranking position? If Goldstein is guilty of past indescretions,($115,000 in gambling debt and questionable trade practices as a stockbroker) then either he should step down, or be ousted from being the executive director. Many parents are disillusioned and distrust has permeated LVCS and most are losing confidence with each revelation that come out of the newspaper articles. I am still waiting for him to defend himself from these allegations to hear his side of the story and perhaps gain our confidence back. Somehow I doubt that he can. Its a bit too late now. His ability to handle the school's finances is in question.

Welcom to the Lon Goldstein Charter School. Their motto is "I don't need your trust to make this work".(Direct quote of Lon Godstein in last years board meeting when he dumped the unassuming principle).

It's clear this school has a serious problem. Lon Goldstein appears to be a very talented manipulator.

He has charmed, and bullied his way into a high paying $175K position which he would never have been able to achieve in the open market. Generally speaking jobs of this stature require a serious search for qualified talent, with proven records of performance. Lon does not have this.

He has chequered work history, a personal bankruptcy, and an offense on record for mishandling money from Paine Webber.(all a matter of public record - see NASD data base).

But the LVCS board nearly swoons over the guy. The office staff drools over him. Well David Karesh had everyone hooked on him right up till the time the entire compound he built was attacked by the FBI and set on fire by Karesh himself. And Jim Jones conned a congretation of hundreds into moving to a foreign country and then he offed them.

How will it end with Lon?

Generally when these guys are found out for what they really are, they become desperate and they then become dangerous.

Lon won't leave without a fight. Which of course will hurt the school which of course hurts the kids and no one wants to do that. But that is just what is going to have to happen in order for the parents to take back control of this school and hire a well qualified candidate to replace the present dictator.

Lon was fired from Paine Webber and was basically unemployable as a stockbroker - he grabbed a job at RBC Rauscher - a Canadian bank - on commission.

But he wasn't successful there either and had to file for bankruptcy.

He claims he filed because of bad real estate deals. But these real estate deals took place during the biggest real estate boom of the country in the last 20 years. And he bought a townhome in Livermore just BEFORE the big real estate boom. And we all know what townhomes go for now.

But he says he lost money. But then, maybe HE did!

It would be consistent with his financial track record. Is it possible that the real reason is so he just didn't have to pay his bills like the rest of us. Hmmmm. That's one way to come out ahead I guess.

But wait there's something else he can do.

He can trump up an attack on a loved principle with 30+ years of experience, get him thrown out midway through the first year of school (destabilizing the school and creating a major black eye for LVCS) while ruining the mans unblemished reputation,
and then...
hire a principle he can control for less money...
AND THEN PLACE HIMSELF AS THE CEO OF HIS OWN CORPORATION WITH AN AWESOME SALARY.

As a matter of fact,
HE ESTABLISHED THE POSITION FOR CEO WHILE HE WAS THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD!

How cool is that?

HE HAS TONS OF PARENTS DOING HIS BIDDING- AND NO PAYROLL!!

He's doing much better now in HIS NEW IDENTITY as CHANCELLOR OF EDUCATION then he ever did as a stockbroker.

In this new position he can tweak things even better.

He can open up even more corporations, & non-profits galore thereby completely baffeling the entire school community, and obfiscating the movement of money.

He can hire all vendors, FIRE TEACHERS who dare to stand up to him, BLACKLIST OUTSPOKEN PARENTS, and SIT ON THE BOARD OF THE SCHOOLS OWN LAW FIRM.

This is a man that doesn't know the meaning of the words "CONFLICT OF INTEREST".

Lon is a well spoken, charming, and talented Mr Ripley.

According to public records, there is a direct correlation between Mr. Lon Goldstein's past incidences and his ability to perform his duties as Executive Director. Facts do not lie. I compiled a time line for your reference. Here are a few key points.

That would TOTAL:$1,803, 627.87

But hey who is counting, right?

Let us look at the activity between LVCS's Lon Goldstein and RBC DAIN RAUSCHER'S Lon Goldstein.

Wait a minute!

Isn't that a conflict of interest? You bet it is!!

Review LVCS Board records and notice all the transferring of funds that Lon Goldstein has made to
and from RBC DAIN RAUSCHER with LVCS monies. Before and after he became Executive Director.

Late in 2006, Goldstein transferred at least $264,000.000 to a RBC DAIN RAUSCHER account.

Example of just a few transactions:
• 03/2006 $125,000.00 from Valley Comm. Bank to RBC DAIN RAUSCHER
$325,000.00 from Valley Comm. Bank to RBC DAIN RAUSCHER
• 10/2006 $104,204.94 from RBC DAIN RAUSCHER to Valley Comm. Bank

According to statistical records, RBC DAIN RAUSCHER has a 62% FAILURE RATE.

DID ANYONE THINK TO CHECK HIS CREDENTIALS?
DID ANYONE DO A BACKGROUND CHECK?
DID ANYONE DO IT FOR
PRINCIPAL TINA KRATTIGER MORRIS of CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO?

WHO IS RUNNING THIS CORPOATION? CRIMINALS?

Since when does ANYBODY hire employees without checking their backgrounds and credentials?

LVCS does not even let a visitor on campus without running their drivers license.

We teach this in Kindergarten. Remember Stranger Danger?

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE THIS FAILS!!!

LVCS - a great school

Hayward, CA

#14 Jun 13, 2007
I think that what is getting lost in all the drama of this school year is what a great school LVCS is. I have a kindergartener who has had a wonderful year. The academics have been great including art, Spanish and PE. He has truly excelled, learned so much and had many great experiences.
My 7th grader also had a wonderful year. They took a couple great field trips that would not have been possible at the public middle school because of the small class size at LVCS. He has also learned so much including Spanish, technology, and various "elective" courses.
I think we need to settle this, end the drama and focus on what is really important - the education our kids are getting. The last thing we need is this drama causing wonderful teachers to feel under-appreciated and caught in the middle of the parents and administration. Of course we should speak our mind. However, we also have to trust our elected board members to handle these situations and resolve them. We cannot have constant negative media coverage and have parents and administrators acting like children (such as calling Lon Goldstein, Goldstealer). It sounds like he has made mistakes and may not be the best man for the job, but come on, can we be adult here? I'm getting worried that all of this non-stop drama is going to have a very negative effect on everyone.

Lon Goldstein really is a GOLDSTEALER! Amazing! I hope he is going to be held accoutable for all of his actions. Has anybody filed a formal complaint with the SEC, NASD, Dept. of Corporations, Department of Eduction?
Conflict of interest! He was employed with RBC Dain Rauscher while making transactions for LVCS. He never mentioned to LVCS that he was making money off of those transactions.
