Garcia elected Mannington mayor

Citizens made their voices heard at the ballot box in Tuesday's municipal election.

I have to take up for Bob he came to my house with the petition to oppose the new Fairmont water and spoke with me personally about the project and how he opposed it and how he wanted to repair our exising plant. Atleast he was looking out for the well being of the community trying to keep the bill low. I am glad we have a mayor now that is not afraid to stand up for the community

Really????? Thats funny if he was opposed to it why did he vote in favor of it? So Mr.Garcia must have been telling you what you wanted to hear. Think everyone will find out what kind of Mayor he will be very soon.

Couldn't have said it better myself!! This will be a rought two years. Hope at least the council can keep things going. At least this way Bob can't vote for or against anything. Remember, the Mayor has NO votes on anything!!!

Maybe the new mayor can talk to the mayor of Monongah and see if we can get out of what we are in for in getting our water from Fairmont. They have had trouble servicing their own people, and being at the end of the line we are looking at outrageous water bills, bottled water and Buffalo creek for those of us who care to bathe.

The new mayor was all about the water from fairmont in the very beginning. Yes, I'm sure he would like to change all of that but, now he has to reep what he has sewn. Now that he is where he wants to be - it's time for him to to face the music and be the one that everyone blames for everything gone wrong. Lets see how well he deals with all that. Let's see what happens when he wants to do something that he truly believes will make a difference and help the town - and the council votes his ideas down. Let's see how it feels when the shoes are on the wrong feet!

Sad day indeed for Mannington with Garcia as Mayor. Going to be a long two years if he makes it two years. Don't think he's smart enough to be Mayor. He has a negative cocky attitude to go along with his big ego. Lets see how or if he handles being Mayor when he does't get his way. hope council treats him like he acted as council person. What goes around comes around .He's burned alot of bridges behind him. Mannington council , good luck working with him.

You are 100% correct about Garcia. What goes around comes around. He made the last council and mayor's life hell. Or at least he tried. Hope he gets back seven times as bad as he gave in the past. He is a loser. Negative attitude and cocky on top of EGO. Not a pretty picture is it? Oh Dear, God help our town.

Did you ever notice that two birds of a feather always think each other are "good guys?" I once heard a drunk who put down another drunk for a job reference. Second drunk said he is a "good guy" on the reference paper. True story. Moral of the story, you can put much credit in the good guy idea, until you know who the other "good guy" is making the statement.

don't know new mayor but do know current one..........he is jerk! friends delt with him and he was so rude and ignorant even telling them they had no right to defend themselves whensomeone pulled aknife and constantly harrassed them, even tole the ppl to stay off the street and told one kid he would not take a finger outa his face when asked too..........go white, who wants somone like that in office? abd even charged ppl for 3 charges for defending there family! hope new mayor does better........friend of family
