I was horrified to learn that some people who represent themselves as professionals were texting each other while at a dinner recently. The device was passed by accident and it was obvious they were gossiping about various individivuals seated right at the same table with them.

Would these brazen hussies have the nerve to do that if they were sitting next to each other?

They have lost a couple of major accounts because of their actions and it serves them right. People have let these devices control their lives and any sense or manners they had and they should be banned at any and all social functions imo.

These cell phone junkies should be treated exactly like smokers! Public places need to start posting "no technology such as cell phones, texting" allowed right next to their "No Smoking Signs."
Individuals should start booing loudly and shame the person publicly if they defy logic and rules and a device such as a phone goes off in a place like a church, concert or other venue where it should be safe. Otherwise, the signs and management of supermarkets, restaurants, etc. need to assume responsibility as these rude people could be dangerous and harm someone who objected.
If the management of an establishment refuses to ban cell phones, then boycott them until they do.
Enough is enough and these people are worse than drunk drivers. So many of them can't even go for a walk without a cell phone glued to their ear which endangers other pedestrians and drivers as well as making it difficult for anyone on the other end to listen without numeous gaps when the signal is lost.
You know who you are and all of you will be shunned at social events and other places just as smokers until you stop your offensive, dangerous behaviour.
Hold on, I'm getting a text.......

We play 'Phone Stackers' now. Once seated, everyone takes their phone and stacks them in the middle of the table. The first person to look at their phone pays the bill.

I hope you never reproduce yourself as your parents evidentally failed miserably in teaching you how to behave.
These tech junkies are so socially inept and spoiled that I want to be nowhere near them when the power fails and their devices are inoperable as they'll stop at nothing to get what they want. You look pretty old if this is your picture. If not, then your parent(s) must be members of the "me, me, me" generation. Otherwise, you and your ilk should be ashamed of your behavior which reflects so badly on your parents, teachers and others who have wasted their time on you.
Now run along and send some tweets to your "followers" and you can tell them that you've been texting.
Just out of curiosity....

How much time do you spend here and/or on the computer? And how much of that time, on the computer, do you post about the problems with tech society?

Maybe, the tech-hating snobs are the spoiled ones and unable to function without controlling others. They feel it is their birthright to tell others how to behave. They could simply grow up, not embarrass themselves with their insecurity. Let me catch this call.... ;-)
