All that studying paid off. Todd Herzog, a longtime fan of "Survivor," won the CBS reality show's $1 million prize after 39 days of lying and scheming.

Herzog, who's openly gay, won the 15th edition of "Survivor" with four votes against Yates' two and Kimmel's one. He's the youngest winner in the show's history.

What does being homosexual have to do with Todd winning Survivor? If we are pursuing equality, why does everything we do have to be defined by the fact that we are homosexual? I am happy for Todd and anyone else who wins that game, however I don't believe his being homosexual had anything to do with is win. Out-wit, Out-play, Out-last isn't that the key?

How quickly we forget the first winner of Survivor, also a gay man, Richard Hatch, who conveniently "forgot" to pay income tax on his winnings and, I believe, enjoyed a vacation in the federal penal system!

It is simply a matter of being proud of the accomplishments of another of our own kind. Is that so bad or unusual? Aren't some black people proud when another black person makes a great accomplishment? Aren't some Italians proud when an Italian does something notable? How about when other women cheer when a woman does something great?

Try being less politically-insufferable and just be human for a change.

Um, and Richard Hatch was gay too and "I forgot" was among the excuses he used to explain the reason HE didn't pay and is now in the pokey.

Being gay is interesting for the followign reasons.

#1 He is out, which is a good thing.
#2 On these "reality" shows flirting, sexual tension, etc. can impact the results.
#3 I didn't watch the show but I immagine he used his male to male attraction and lack of female attraction to his advantage.

I watched it, and he really didn't use his being gay at all. He did, however, use his knowledge of previous Survivor seasons to his advantage. He made sure he had someone weaker than him on his side (Courtney) and someone stronger than him on his side (James), so that they would be targets rather than him.

The most ironic point of this season was that Todd, the gay flight attendant, was (arguably) helped the most by a Christian radio talk show host! She gave him the clue to the hidden immunity idol which helped him secure James as an ally. Which just goes to show you, God does work in mysterious ways!

For me, the point is that being gay didn't have anything to do with his winning. I missed a few shows, but I did not see them make any big deal about his sexuality at all. They did not set him up for arguments because he was gay and they didn't use it either for or against him. On their little beach, there was equality! Being gay just didn't matter, and that's how it should be everywhere.

There was a lesbian on a couple seasons ago too. They mentioned it and her partner came when the other family members did, but they did not play it up. That is how it should be.

Why Thank You and Merry Christmas(I believe that is what the inclination I've seen was) to you and yours.

BLANK IT.
What ever you worship
whether you worship or not
I take this time to wish
blessings upon you and yours
should you need them
they are yours,
should you want them
they are yours
should you deny them
they will find you anyway.
Thank me not, thank the origin from where they come and pass them along.
