FYI K32 was repaved about three weeks ago so there are signs posting when to pass and not to pass, but ther ARE NO LINES painted on the hiway. If its dark it would be hard to see thes signs.

I'm just curious how a car that was passing the other car managed to strike the car it was passing head on. Seems like sloppy writing. Probably meant to say that a car that was passing struck a car head on in the incoming lanes. That would make more sense. Where are the editors?

I get passed on that road all the time and I go the speed limit. People drive like a bunch of maniacs and I refused to travel on that road when it is dark. Much too dangerous.

Read the sentence under the above headline " THEE Highway Patrol"..., and "Leavenworth Kansas" instead of Leavenworth COUNTY Kansas. TWO major errors in ONE sentence. There are no editors at Fox4News.

Since when did the Highway Patrol become biblical?

My condolences to the families of those involved in this tragedy.

Do you know how fast they were going? Did you know you can be killed in a head on crash when both cars are going 35mph? Who's to say they were speeding around. The could have been passing someone who was not going the speed limit.

Thats not what it said :) " The accident happened near K-32 and 214th Street around 9 p.m. Sunday according to Kansas Highway Patrol. KHP said Nuzik's car was trying to pass another vehicle when it crashed head on with Henry and Conn's car"

No matter how you spell it, this is a tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families involved. They will forever be together which what I'm sure they would have liked....just not in this manner.:(

To Stephanie Conn's family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. I was a former Girl Scout leader of Stephanie's and my daughter Alyssa and Stephanie were good friends up until the time we moved away. I remember a camp out that we went on (the girls were in 3rd grade) and I was chosen to be the mother that stayed with them in the permatent. We laughed so much that night! At that time the movie Titanic was out and Stephanie broke out into a rendition of Celine Dion's song, " My Heart Will Go On." I remember thinking she was very good for someone so young. Pretty soon all of the girls were singing it; over, and over, and over. Whenever I hear this song I think of Stephanie. She will live in your hearts and memories forever. I hope you can find some peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

It has been rewritten since my first post. Still poor spelling and grammer though.

Why yes it is. Hence the reason I stopped my post when I was finished with my thought. Had I wanted to say more I would have continued to write. Three people are dead, two because of the third's stupidity. While sad, it pales in comparison to the amount of death that occurs world wide every day. Not trying to be callous but if these things are going to be reported on then let us report intelligently and use correct sentence structure and coherent thought processes.

The driver that passed the other car and hit the kids head on was Clocked by HWY Patrol at over 100 mph.
