hmm..rolling a Jeep over several times on a residential straight road with a speed limit of 25mph? doesn't sound right

Maybe EVERYONE is just sick and tired of hearing about 100% preventable accidents and that our sympathy tank is on E.
If you are going to speed, and drive recklessly, prepare to die or perhaps become a vegetable.
Another uninformed opinion. The article says nothing about excessive speed or reckless behavior. Maybe they swerved to miss a cat. You don't know. Comment on the article. don't jump to your own pessimistic conclusions.

You don't roll over several times, especially in a Jeep, just because you swerved to miss the "cat" if you are driving the speed limit on a local street. By the way, my own "pessimistic conclusions" would have included the probable contribution of alcohol to the incident.

I know Mulberry Street. It's a straight road. Not like by the reservoir, where it has many nasty curves. Even if you swerve to miss an animal, you most likely won't get in that nasty of an accident. At 2 in the morning - I do assume alcohol or speed had something to do with it.

Whether speed or alcohol was involved or not we need to pray for those who were involved and there families.

There will be time enough for conjecture and lessons when we are sure all the young ones are home safe.

Gee Alex!

That is an awful amount of prejudgement. I live in Southington, My son paid for his own car.

When he smashed up mine I had loaned it to him for the evening to go to work.

He took responsibility, paid his fines.

He's kinda right. I also live in this town - the kids I went to high school with are/were spoiled brats. Going to the finest schools, driving cars bought for them by mommy and daddy. I'm not saying all kids are like that, just alot of them.

Just maybe;

This child was not one of them. Maybe not. But that is what pre-judgement is.

Maybe this person worked a job all during high school and bought there own car. maybe not.

A name like Starshine I would guess you are female. That is a pre-judgement. You could be male.

I believe I believe it is 40% of women are blond or chose to be blond at some time in there life so I could say you must be blond.

That is a pre- judgement.

You do sound intelligent or I wouldn't have pointed this out to you. If you pre-judge, you may make many mistakes.

Willy, you are absolutely correct. I live in Southington and I am very close with those involved in the accident and they each come from a hard working household whose parents stress working hard and being diligent and persistent to achieve your dreams. The car was bought by the driver who works and supports himself. None of these people are what you may call "spoiled brats." Don't prejudge anyone. Just because some may be wealthy in this town does not imply that their money was acquired and inherited through greed and selfishness. Some people actually DO work to get where they are. All we can do is pray that all of the young adults involved will pull through this and make a full recovery.

I was just curious how they all are doing?I hope they are recovering. Another thing to consider, sometimes when the roads have just a little moisture them, the oil comes up from the surface of the road and makes it slick. I am not making excuses but this is something to consider too.

They had been coming from a party, and there were bottles found at the scene.

Let those without sin cast the first stone...I can't tell you how many people in Southington speed and run red lights. What, there's never going to be abother green light? What does being rich have to do with this accident. I applaud those that work hard and have something to show for it.

I don't drink & drive. Which is pretty much what the signs point too. As I said, there were bottles as the scene, as they had just come from a party. Nobody said having money had anything to do with this accident. Kids just need to pay more attention when they're driving around.

That's what I meant by the comments re. wealth. And again, I have seen some of the worst drivers right in Southington. Tailgating, speeding in a 25 MPH, running red ligts, no signaling, talking on the phone, putting on make up, etc. Running a red light can cause just as serious an accident as drinking and driving. My point is, one driving infraction is not worse than another. I have been driving since I was 15 and am now 50 and have never been in an accident.

The link to the article wasn't working for me but if it was a white jeep that rolled on its top in farmington I saw the car upside-down early Sunday morning. I stopped to flag someone down to call for help because I didn't have a phone and from what I could tell the car only seemed to have rolled over once. Also, for what it's worth, the road does curve and there was ice. Best wishes to whoever was inside .
