Buy the property from the town and do what you want with it. Don't look to the town for a hand out.

I agree with that...although I believe this is near the rails to trails? fixing it up somewhat and making it a little place to stop along the trail might be kind of nice...but that can slo be done by leasing it to UNICO and lettingthem run it

Town Council Meeting 11/10/08

Don't you think the grass-roots collection of more than 4000 signatures & submission of same on 11/7/08 (when only 2821 were required) to open a Charter Revision Commission and the acknowledgment of same at 11/10 Town Council meeting is important ?

You can get most people to sign anything if you phrase it correctly. The signatures are not worth anything.

If you really think it has value, put your money into it. Don't make the Town pay for it. The Town has better things to spend on... like schools.

where is the idea coming from that the town s "paying" for anything. a community organization wants to do a cleanup and restoration with their own money. how is that a problem? the reason that southington is a wasteland of big box blight and chain restaurants is because of short sighted deals with no real value to the community. i guess you love it because you can't seem to get enough of it.

charter revision would be a lot easier to assess if the people in favor of it would go on the record about what it is they want changed. just like the failed state constitutional convention language, is it change that helps all the citizenry, or is it a way for special interests to overcome their inability to get their way through the ballot/legislative process? you know... like those heavily funded anti gay groups that hate so deeply that they can't sleep at night unless they are actively stripping fellow citizens of the same rights that they themselves enjoy? those kind of sore losers? you can keep it. do the hard work of running for office, making your case to the public, and exposing the current crop of town council crooks for what they are. how about really trying the front door before breaking down the back door?

Wow Vince a little bitter?
Didn't they just play with the charter not that long ago? I do not think we should let anyone mess with the charter, Unless someone has a specific issue they want addressed. If given cart blanche who knows what would happen.
And I would just like to add about THE "new" town hall addition...hahahahahahahahahah a and I must also say hehehehehehehehehehehe.

not bitter about anything, just pointing out that the charter revision crowd has been remarkably silent about what it is they actually want to revise. that is weird, considering that they rely on a public petition. i have asked and it seems kinda secret.

as for the cons con effort, and the heavy funding by gay haters... i'm not bitter, and i'm not gay, but i do know a hate group when i see one. and these folks are hate groups practicing hate speech and attempting to ammend the constitution because they couldn't pass hate legislation, plain and simple.

it would be too bad if the charter revision folks turned out to be a trojan horse for a hate group. so far i'm not convinced that they aren't.

Wow they made bread there. We need to save that place and the town should pay for it.- ha ha

If it is such a special place why wait so long to stand up and clean the place up?
