How many more people have to lose their jobs to accomplish this turnaround. Unemployment did go down but guess what it just went back up again via JCPenney.

As posted by someone else before when will they see that the Emperor wears no clothes? I left my job at Penneys yesterday, I got frustrated with it all the so called turnaround has left low morale within its workers and the thing that bothers me is that the idiot dosn't really care about those that work so hard trying to make his fantasy come true. They are pawns in his game.:(

ron figures the value of penneys real estate will bail him out. He will likely have made a billion dollars by the time of liquidation, and lots of his buddies are making big bucks too:(

I agree that ron needs to think about all the ppl he is firing is the SAME PPL that he NEEDS to make penneys " americas favorite store" if there's no budget or more price cuts, stop paying ron johnson and give it to the employees that dont get paid enough! Ever think about that Ron?????

Again a sign he is a moron. It is not possible to make Penneys "America's favorite store". Their product mix is simply too limited to ever attain that title.

Well the blame is not entirely on Ronnies' head.He has a Board too. I have a faint hope that all the wonderful people I worked with still have a paycheck by this time next year.

unbeliveable i worked for jc penneys 7years and was in catalog dept, tey took tht away and people were realy mad that was a main stream people loved abou penneys, and now he is trying to make it a young peoples store, its nt going to happen, what about all his fithful older people who loved to shop at penneys i guess they dont c cfount and found out alot of kids 20 and 21 are being mae managers and have no clue how to talk and operat among people, the peopl who made enneys for yers were looked over, who ad the knwledge and experience to do th job, well sorry to say i thought the dress code sucks because people liked coming into a store with people looking professional.
so rn johnson thanks for alot of us faithful employees losin or jobs.

Hey Bill you have to be tired of this moron by now.
The whole company hates him and now do not care about doing their jobs. Ron has taken a well oiled 110 yr. old machine and blew it up with TNT. I am a 20 yr. veteran of JCPenney and could do better as CEO. In fact I will work for half the salary and provide twice the results.

That crazy place layed me off last January and it was for the best. I rarely even go in there and certainly don't give them my money. It is a shame that a company that has been around for 111 years is about to go under!

that has nothing to do with it, the problem was ron johnson firing hs customers, and going in search of new ones who havent arrived.

Well it looks like a lot more people are losing their jobs. Penney's is now closing around 300 stores including mine. Ron Johnson is really sticking it to JC Penney.

how many other stores have left 22,000 go?

things arent going to get better thers a rumor of 50 to 60 store closing coming, so that 22,000 will likely grow a lot.

Ron working hard to kill his company:(

300 stores hadnt heard that.

I guess thats the majority of small stores nationwide, how sad:(

I guess the layoff number will soon grow to 35,000....

Fixture liquidators and going out of business companies must be thrilled. lots of money is made when stores fail.

I worked for a fixture liquidator for awhile....

the regular store employees were generally heart sick, but relieved when the closed sign was put up...

going out of business usually means very hard work till you get let go:(

Hewlett-Packard fired 27, 000 last year. Not to mention all the government contractors that are being let go. And all the millitary who are coming back home to no jobs. Whether its a company or our own government, too many people are out of work.
