I received a gift card for Steak N Ale and have called the number on the back of the card. They gave me another number for customer service. I was given a website to file a claim, but there is no way to send it. They are making something simple very complicated. I really feel sorry for all the employees that work at these restuarants. They show up for work and find out they dont have a job. That is really inconsiderate of the company. I know they knew this was coming. If anyone knows a way to make a claim that is easier or actually works, let me know. Thanks

I bought two Steak N Ale gift cards to give for Christmas this year. I can't find anyone to contact to see which restaurants are still open or if all in my Houston area are closed. What a way to end a good place to eat. If anyone has a website for this problem, I would sure appreciate knowing it.

ya, maybe there were some mad but i think the majority of us were sad. The people i worked with, all of us were pretty close. Managers and employees. Came to work that morning thinking i will be working all day. Instead, some of us stood around the quiet building while employees were being called one by one to not come in to work that day.

I can't see the concept of Steak and Ale staying down for good. I really think it got dragged down by bad management and a horrible sister concept.(Bennigan's). Someone will pull S&A off the scrap pile at some point and make it relveant again. The menu is better than 90% of restaurants out there today if they go back to what got them their success in the 1st place.

Maybe Norman Brinker will buy the brand back again, or some of the old Managers that made a lot of money off the success of that great concept!

the corporate owners of S&A evidently have no PR skills, shutting down a good restaurant chain w/no explanation to their public! Some sense of gratitude! Many patrons, like me have been loyal for 30yrs or more, not because S&A was ultra-premium, but because it delivered good food & real value. dumping S&A in favor of Bennigan's may have been motivated by lower cost of goods at Bennigan's, but it was a bad decision, handled poorly. Like Ex S&A guy, I hope someone revives it.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
