bs - the economy in MICHIGAN has been in the tube for a year. the GLOBAL economy and DEMAND for oil has only started to go down recently; and thus the falling oil and gas prices.

Gas has not leveled off here in the Grand Rapids area to $1.99. In boht Grandville and Jenison is higher. I wish Wood TV 8 wood do an ivestigation on why that is. They sure will cover all staions when gas goes up and who has the highest prices.

You don't read the stories posted by WOOD then, do you? Most of them have typos and grammatical errors too.

Good one, pj. You're doing great, WOOD ought to hire you.

Some of has to do simply with maximizing profit for the individual stations. By itself, one station does not make all that much money.

A lot of it also has to do with costs of operation which vary greatly depending on location and a number of other factors.

A station in one area selling at $2.49 may earn less than one in another area selling at $2.39.

Very true. As far as the station owner goes, the money is made from selling pop, cigs, candy, etc. Now that gas has come down I'm sure these stations will see more traffic in their stores buying these things as most folks cut back while gas was at $4.00 a gallon, I sure did.
