Hannah Poling also has mitochondrial disorder. Her parents (a neurosurgeon and a nurse/lawyer) were awarded a multi-million dollar settlement a few years ago, when Hannah received nine vaccines in one day and immediately developed symptoms of autism. Health officials would not say she had autism, but only symptoms of autism, even though there is no lab test for autism and a diagnosis is always based merely on the presence of symptoms. Health officials also said that her symptoms were the result of a 'rare underlying mitochondrial disorder'.
