I wonder what will be whined about when this is done. Seems like someone is always at the bottom on the stick and "It's just not fair". Life's not fair! It'll be interesting to see which unfortunate group of held back and poorly treated individuals will start crying when they are at the bottom now that these monkeys have found they're way up a notch. People don't understand that this will never end. Give an inch and they'll take a mile.

Gay/Lesbian marriage is NOT RIGHT. I believe in civil unions, but the santity of marriage should be between a MAN AND A WOMAN only. What is our world coming to??

So, how would you say that all straight couples are protecting the "sanity" of marriage?

I guess they never cheat on their spouses, and never divorce, right?

Why do you suppose that gay couples would do any worse? How can you "protect" the "sanity" of marriage from those who value and seek it?

They want their "marriages" financed by the Federal government...plain and simple.

Can I get a furtherance on tax breaks because my wife and I are married?

This is the latest in a long line of articles by The Courant to legitimize the gay lifestyle.

What The Courant doesn't understand is that the more they push with their ultra-left winged agenda, the more middle-of-the-road Americans push back and subscriber numbers decline.

The question that all Americans need to answer is how many parents raise their kids to be gay as adults?

Is it NOT about the money. This is about equality under the law. For me & my husband it is about protection, for our son and ourselves, from federal laws that discriminate. Marriage is not a right that can be "owned" by one group of society. Our family is entitled to equal rights and equal protections this country offers all of its citizens.

Can we take marraige away from the liberals? No marraige, no kids, no more liberals. Then this whole country might function correctly.

A significant portion of the homosexual community has successfully hijacked the dictionary, and managed to stifle civilized dialogue by accusing anyone opposed to the concept of homosexual 'marriage' as homophobic.

I have a homosexual younger brother. That doesn't mean that I have to approve or agree with everything he says, does or believes.

In a truely Free Society People can do whatever they want as long as they don't infringe upon someone elses rights.

All you people trying to tell other people that they must live by what you determine is right or wrong is Very Unamerican!

Liberty Trumps Democracy.

Are you able to answer my Question?

Again I ask you, Is Marriage a Privilage?

It's one or the other. Either it's a Natural Born Right or it's a Privilage Granted by the Government.

Are you sure it's not a right?

Dear Lee Ann, Your are right that you don't have to agree with anyones opinionsor beliefs, but where do you get the idea that you can "approve" of someone elses beliefs? When you entitle yourself the right to approve of rights of others, I'm afraid that does make you homophobic and a bigot. I am glad i am not your brother.

What do you disagree with? What do you not approve of? Why do you not approve of it? Why do you CARE enough to approve or disapprove what he does? Why are equal rights for legal citizens an issue for you?

Want some civilized dialogue? Heres a start.
a) Being against equality is completely un-American.
b)Your brother is GAY.
c)Homosexuality isnt a belief of an act, it is who someone is as a person.

Any questions?

It isnt right for what reason exactly?

Our world is coming to equality for all citizens. The way it should be.

P.S. 56% divorce rate. 23% married households with children. Only 51% of people getting married. There is no sanctity of marriage. All semantics. You just want to discriminate.
