Jimmy Dean tried to start a resturant chain here in Columbus, much like Bob Evans.

I believe this was in the early 80's.

Maybe this is one reason why he made local news.

He was a nice man.

To the Great Ballzak and The Red Raider....shame on you both. This man may not have been anything to you but I'm sure if you check him out you will find he had integrity, compassion for others and humility....all of which you both lack!

And now he is dead. Is this the beginning of a string of three deaths of people I thought were already dead?

He was a good man from a time in this country when hard work and risk taking was admired, not something that those of lesser constitution would ridicule in public.

His microwavable breakfast sandwiches were second to none. The juices of the sausage mixing with the melted cheese dripping on down the muffin take me to a better time in life. I tip my hat to you Mr. Dean.

I used to work with Mr. Dean back in the day. I had a little dittie called "Big Bad Shawn". He suggested a new title and the rest is musical history.

So long Jimmy. You had a great ride and I never did hear anything disrespectful about you until reading some of these posts.

Jimmy Dean also had a hit song in 1962 about JFK's PT-109. A decade later, he was co-hosting the "Mike Douglas Show" and ardently defending Richard Nixon during Watergate. Interesting man. May he rest in peace.

Jimmy Dean was a distant cousin to my father. I remember seeing him at the Houston Livestock Show at the rodeo when I was a kid. We loved him! He will be missed by all. Our deepest condolences to his wife and family members.
