This is why its called a forum. Forums such as website were formed share each others opinions, beliefs, and ideas. That is what makes a forum an interesting place to debate about an issue that is on everyones minds. Quite frankly, today's major issue is about immigration and the war. Debating helps our minds and intelligence expand. It also gives us to sides of whatever issue that concerns us. Instead of being one side, left or right, debating helps us stay in the grey area of a concering issue.

I think the wall of shame is a publicity stunt for nassau county! If news 12 & newsday are LONG ISLAND news & newspapers then why only have a nassau county wall of shame? What about all the suffolk county dwi arrests??? It makes no sense & the fact that you can purchase people's mugshots is really amusing, if you are purchasing mugshots you have more problems than the people who are in the mugshots themselves! If a cop gets away with a dwi it just shows that they can do whatever they want and they don't face the consequences that they "try" to enforce!

It is true, they arrest for nothing and then tell you how hot your wife or gf looked when you are falsly charged...ask the former Lt. at Levittown prct, who was charged with harassing female detectives and got away with it!!

I don't begrudge that the cops have a tough job... but now who's complaining about their career choice? No one forced cops to enter that profession. They signed up knowing the risks. However that doesn't mean we should continue to overpay for them. The troops in iraq aren't getting near the compensation as the scpd, yet face significantly more danger. Also, keep in mind I need a graduate degree to even be considered for my job. From what I've read, the SCPD doesn't even need 1 college credit. All that's needed to qualify is a HS diploma or a GED.

I just think the benefits and perks, along with the high salaries are a little out of control. Apparently the county exec, and the print and tv media and most of the public agree with me.

i really hate nassau cops. They always come over after I smack my wife around and lock me up. im so sick of having my car impounded when my license is supended and i use my buddies license plates on my car. who do they think they are? whenever I get pulled over im like..go bother someone else. If I want to party with some blow who the f are they to tell me i cant. I also hate that my chances of conviction in court are well above 90% because they are all anal about their procedures and evidence collection. I really agree with you guys.
