Brownfield news paper gave a watered down version of the Edward Sugan Barnett Case. They forgot to mention in there story that Detective Darell Williams Lied under oath, Falsified governmental records, and was FIRED from Kermit Texas for having sex with a 14 year old girl while he was a police officer. WOW, this totally blows me away that the local news paper was scared to run a story about a BAD police officer, Do they condone corruption or What?

BROWNFIELD NEWS PAPER.......REPORT THE NEWS, the news paper should be FIRED

Almost forgot......Darrel D Williams Brownfield Police Detective lost his police commission from Kermit as part of a plea bargain. The plea bargain was..........you give up your police commission permanently or we will prosecute you for having sex with a 14 year old girl. Darrel Williams choose to give up his police commission, and then lied and got back into law enforcement 10 years later.......WOW!

Now he is investigating sexual cases, this makes no sense, this man is on the board of the Boys and Girls club, he has surrounded himself with young girls, this man is a danger!!!!

Please FIRE him, I dont want my kidds near him!!!!

You forgot to mention that Brownfield Police Detective Darrel Williams plead the 5th amendment while under oath when asked questions about whether or not he falsified governmental records, had sex with a 14 year old girl, and about everything else he was asked.

There are two sides to every story! What was reported in the news was not true! This is election year .. And in a small town like Brownfield everyone loves to mud sling during this time!! I hope you are happy Tony, Jo'Shay and Albert!! It really is sad to see adults trying to make someone look bad just to better themselves!!

I believe Williams made himself look bad by not saying the truth the only one to blame is himself.he was the only one who made the decision to do what he did in Kermit,he needs to be relieved of his duties asap and my goodness he holds a postion with the boys and girls club organization.Somebody needs to clean house over there. There are two sides to a story, the first one was in kermit, and the PAPERWORK WAS THE SECOND...I DO BELIVE HE IS OUT OF STORIES....

I've known Darrell for 22 Yrs and I know that he is a great guy and a great cop. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? I do not believe he did or ever would have sex with an underage girl. If you had a daughter that was raped by an older man would you drop charges just because you didn't want them to have to go to the grand jury? I know I wouldn't. I would get justice for my child. Don't believe everything you hear. There's only one person who can judge him and its not you. I support my long time friend Darrell Williams.

Haley, I agree with you!!! I would stop at nothing to see to it that charges were filed & ESPECIALLY GET A CONVICTION, neither of which was done!! I believe with all my heart that this poor man is being used as a scape goat for other people's benefit. I mean after all it IS an election year & how CONVENIENT that the County Attorney has been brought up ONE MONTH prior to the election. It just blows my mind what some people wlll do for their benefit. Oh yea & these same people call themselves Christians & are in church every Sunday?? I honestly believe that the truth will prevail & Darrell will be cleared of everything he's been accused of. GOD BLESS DARRELL WILLIAMS & RAMON GALLEGOS & GOD BLESS THE CITY OF BROWNFIELD!!!!!

It has been brought up before but your savior Ramon was to lazy to do anything about it or sorry whatever you wanna call it!!! I'll tell you what put a watermelon seed in your ear water it everyday and until you grow a brain stop posting stuff because you are dumb! Why do you fools insist on turning this into a political thing? Probably because you know nothing about politics is what I'm guessing!!! I do agree with you about one thing god bless brownfield and the few good officers that the pd has!!!

Finally someone who can see the facts as they are, when you are ask to plea to an offense and you except that plea, IT IS GUILT. If you did not commit the crime WHY would you plea to a dill that would end your career forever, if it did not happen????? Darell Williams is a child molister and should be teated as one.

Are you serious Pork Rinds? What facts? I guess you and your Moron butt buddy both reside in LA LA LAND!! Thank God that there's not too many idiots like you two. You keep referring to "plea bargain". Well Mr.(or Ms.) attorney wanna be, a plea bargain takes place IN A COURT OF LAW!!!!!!!! And if you and your butt buddy would listen....no charges were filed! Oh yea the media said that Detective Williams "plea bargained" to surrender his peace officers license....Really???? He ALLEGEDLY had sex with a 14 year old child. I'M SO SURE HIM GIVING UP HIS LICENSE WAS GONNA TAKE CARE OF IT....I DON'T THINK SO!!!! If it were true, CHARGES WOULD HAVE BEEN FILED!! So you and your butt bubby "the Lie" keep believing and thinking what you want so long as you stay in your LA LA land!!

People make those kinds of deals all the time BEFORE they are taken into court. It actually is for the victim, especially when the victim is a child. Quit arguing over guilt or innocence unless you were a witness. Makes you look like an idiot. There was a deal made and Williams broke the deal, whether guilty or not. Should've kept the deal and it would've saved himself, his family and friends, and the pd a lot of problems. When he didn't food through with his end of the bargain he asked for this.

It's like this...sometimes a person will be given the option to resign instead of being fired. Most of the time, the person will resign because they did wrong. Therefore they did the right thing so a lot of embarrassment doesn't fall upon them or their family. In fact, this was the case recently in Brownfield when a United manager had a long term affair with a subordinate, starting when she was a minor. Obviously this was not morally or legally okay, even with her consent. The married man has has other affairs as well and continues to do so. He was also arrested in the past for assaulting his wife and dwi. Point being...these deals are common in many different areas of life. Williams should man up and walk away doing the right thing now. Move on and find another job where his credibility is not an issue. That's what the other guy did . Everyone then can at least stop talking , which is no good for him, and he can live a life without the talk and scrutiny.

No offense taken:). Not on anyone's side. None of the social media talk is good for anyone. It in the end will cause more problems. People blasting People will just get too ugly. We all have secrets and sins in our pasts , but enough is enough and there will be those that come out with gloves on! Talk trash or slime and get it back.
