It looks like Hell Hollow gots its name because the land there wasn't good for farming, not because of supernatural or paranormal reasons. Some information, with sources cited, can be found at:

A coworker of mine has described the cries of fishers of being just like a baby in distress.

I have been here late at night i mean you automatically get scared becasue you assume all you hear is true!! But when you go you dont hear or see anything. They say their was a witch burned at the stake on the island in the middle of the pond at the end of Hell Hollow Road...but i mean maybe if you actually went on that little island you may or may not hear something. I have never experienced anything!

I have also heard that people who live around there complain of loud high pitch noises/screams. But as to what that is idk...i guess the cries happen later at night!????

Bill is right - I have heard fishers at night and they do sound like a child screaming or crying out in pain. Coyotes can also make very strange yowls that will raise the hair on the back of your neck. But I think people prefer the fun of thinking there are supernatural forces present.

In the earily 1980s me and my wife went to the pond to do some fishing, trying to park we were surrounded by a pack of ducks a breed that we have never seen before, aparently they did not want us there. Eventually we got by them and parked the car,as we walked away the car rolled down torward the pond , i ran and got into the car and backed it up ,weve never gone back.

i live by hells hollow rd and have been there many times. about 20 years ago or so, myself and three other friends parked in front of the pond and walked up the hill near a large boulder where some people say maud is buried. my friend though it could be funny to urinate on the rock. when we went back down the hill to the car we found it englufed in flames!! NO joke!!

Strange stories mentioning unnamed "friends" with no proof from anonymous posters.

Telling fictional ghost stories to the out-of-towners is somewhat of a pasttime in rural New England.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Cancer

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
