I have to do something that is very rare on these forums - I have to admit that I made a mistake!! I know this family well but I actually mixed up them up with another branch of the family. I will tell you that to mention that 'her dad tried to stab her mom when she was pregnant' was about 40 years ago........I do hope that everyone remembers and mentions every secret from your family as you want to do for this one......I feel the need to quote the bible here and ask you to remember 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone'...maybe you should try to clean your own house before you are so intent on digging up the dirt on others........

Thou shalt not lie should be one of your commandments. No one is saying he was not guilty however once again there are two sides to every story and I guess getting pregant at 13 considers one to be a child too!No one can go back and change what happened but too many people focus on the fact that he was a police officer. Teachers and priests face the same high standards. Well if it was just anyone else so many people wouldn't but in and live their lives with their own skeletons in their closets and worry about themselves and spend more time enjoying life instead of spending time making others miserable beyond that which they should bear. Consequences were served by all. Just let them all move on already!

He should have come clean with his wife about his 5 year affair with the girl's mother who was best friends with the wife instead of the girl threatening to tell his wife if he wouldn't do something with her! She may have been considered a child by age but not by maturation. She knew what she wanted and consentual is consentual. He was wrong but she is no innocent little 14 year old. She learned from what her home life was like! She will be visiting her Mom and step-dad in jail for not paying taxes on the money the step-dad (prominant doctor in Bangor)was pimping her out for. Great roll models

Not saying they ALL shouldn't move on, wrong is wrong. Unfortunately that girl had no chance if her family was so bad but that's unfortunate that a childhood or youth was taken away. Mr. Young didn't need to lend to it, and his life was pretty pathetic also, he cheated on Ms. Young from the get-go and slept with tons of females for SEX. So therefore he shouldn't throw stones either. So now everyone move on!!!!!!!!

I agree with you 100%. If this young girl's home life was so bad it is unfortunate that she looked for something outside of the home and found this loser who took advantage. I will maintain that any 27 year old man who has sex with a 14 yr old gir (and maybe her mother at the same time) while married should be put away for a very long time. And the people who are trying to defend him and blame everyone except him are just as bad.

Thats absolutely hilarious.. and very far from the truth.. I know this family as far back as the roots..and hunny, id bet my tax return those statements arent true.. just a little FYI its a small town with a lot of big mouths so not everything you hear or read for that matter is true.. Adult lied on application to become a fake cop, again, makes him a criminal.

Chief Currall didn't check into background of Christopher Young, perhaps that doesn't make him a criminal, but it certainly does show that he fails to take his job seriously. He should be fired and forced to repay any legal monies spent by the township, as it was ALL a result of his incompetence. Has anyone check into HIS background, or that of the other officers on the force? Maybe, but it's a little late now, isn't it?

No matter how it is sliced an adult male had sex with a child. The focus should remain on him.

How would you feel if this had been a friend of yours having sex with your daughter. I may not agree with the lawsuit based on what the judge said about him not being on shift and the parents being his friend but the child is off topic.

If this girl's homelife was what so many locals are saying there is no way at fourteen that she could have matured as you state. It is like someone being in a car and taking a detour and then describing the scenery that would match the route they should have taken.
Her body may look mature, her mouth may not be that of a child, her actions may mimic those of a woman but she is a damaged child that needs help not more abuse.

It is nice to see that some people have a decent perspective on this. I work with abused and neglected kids...I don't know all of the details about this case but if a cop has sex with a minor that's enough for a jail sentence for me. if the parents knew or encouraged the daughter- their parental rights need to be taken, but I don't understand the comment someone left about the Judge stating that he was friends and knew the family- most molesters do! i would check in to incest in this family if they truly did " allow" this relationship..who knows what else they thought was allowable.

This is so old hat this story. Geeze the guy did his time its over.Let the guy and the girl move on. But on the topic of the application he pled no contest. After doing some digging to get the truth on this subject which I try and do before I post a comment on here because I would rather state fact the fiction. I think he should have faught the application charge because since when are you guilty of anything when you don't even fill out the application. The state came foward AFTER he pled to admit the error in sending him to the wrong classes to get certified. They said they need to send him to a diffrent program and it was their fault. Ceraul could have done a better job working with the state on this. But the guy didn't even fill out the application the chief did....This does not excuse his actions on the other offence and according to records he did what was asked of him. So to say he was a "fake cop" just is not true and all my research is from public record. From what I also read he did do a great job as a cop, sound more like a back up charge in case he beat the other charges because that case sounded loose in some areas. Just posting facts not fiction. Sounds like you have an ax to grind more then truth. There was an earlier post that I found intresting about how the DA's office failed to charge the other ADULT males this female was having sex with I was wonder why they where not charged as well and if there was a push to have them charged or where they sued as well. I will look into that and get back but may be your feedback on that would be helpful.
