Hello
Connelly just pulled a fast one one me.
I requested a transfer to a one bedroom from a two bedroom.
They have tricked me into staying in this two bedroom so that they can collect this large rent.
If anyone else has a problem with them
Please contact Star & Starks Lawyers at They sued Connelly for a Mr James Gamble.
I am speaking with them now.
I am going to sue them.
They won the case for Mr Gamble.
My problem with them is too lengthy to type.
I will post here again after the outcome of my suit

Connelly never fixes anything....They come up with all types of corrupt and sleazy reasons not to give back your security....Tenants need to come together and request a town hall meeting at city hall regarding Connelly Properties inc.

I too had the owners of Watchung Gardens sell to Connolly. Yes it went down hill from there. I chose not to lease from Connolly when my lease expired. I sent an email & followed up with a letter letting them know I would not renew the lease & gave them my new address. Needless to say the 30 days passed & I did not get my security back. I called & told them I would come in to pick it up. Of course I had to make several trips & when I got the envelope it had an address other than the one I provided I guess in hopes I would never receive the check. I have since spoke to someone who applied to Connolly & was told the apt would be ready then it wasn't. I had several people, white, black, spanish callon the same day withing 5 minutes of each other looking for a 2 bedroom & each one were told the only apts available were in different complexes. The blacks were told Madison Ave by McDonalds. The spanish were told Watchung Gardens & the Whites were told Central Ave. The name of the person they spoke to was documented & an atty is being sought.

Yes, you all are right about Connolly. I finally moved out of my apt after 3 years of horrible service (a bit more than 1 1/2 with Connolly), an unsafe building, and no repairs that would ordinarily be considered part of your right through the lease. I moved out the end of March and have yet to get my deposite refunded. I am taking them to small claims court if there is nothing by Tuesday. If you are thinking about renting DON'T!!! They are a nightmare, don't give a hoot about the integrity of old buildings and in our city, there is 1 handyman for more than a dozen apt building properties.

I ALSO CURRENTLY RENT FROM THESE SLUM LORDS. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE ELDERLY IN THE BUILDING, THE HANDICAP, OR THE GENRAL SECURITY OF ITS RESIDENTS. I'M STARTING TO FIND NEW GRAFFITTI IN THE HALLWAYS( WE WALK DOWN FROM THE 5TH FLOOR, BECAUSE THE ELEVATOR HAS BEEN BROKEN SINCE FEBURARY).BUT AS LONG AS U WORK FOR THEM AND LVE IN THE BUILDING U TOO CAN HAVE A BRAND NEW APT.

all i can say is WOW. i just moved into the east front st. towers on may 15th. after going through what seemed to be an extensive backround and identity check i finally was approved to live in one of their buildings. i was shown a room in march and wasnt aloud to move into it until may 15th. now i am here and i cant get into the laundry room cause it has been locked since i moved here. the drain in my shower is clogged. the electrical outlets in my room are uncovered and are a fire hazard. the windows are paper thin, old pieces of crap. let me just say, NOTHING WORKS! the people here aren't bad. they do make a heck of a mess in the hallway. but other than that they keep to themselves. the day i moved in the super came with me and he gave me a checklist to check off if everything was working and i wrote down everything that doesnt work. he told me someone would come to fix everything in a day or 2. well i bet you could have guessed that didnt happen. also, it took me about three weeks of calling the office to finally get them to give me my mailbox key!

Several weeks ago, we get a letter from Johanna, stating we need to start taking care of and clean the outsides of our homes. We were going to have an inspection in a week, to make sure all tenants were compliant. Connolly Prop. needs to worry about the insides before the outsides. And why should any of us care at this point, if they had proper garbage pick up days, the stuff wouldnt be blown all over the properties. She can hide her stuff outside she has a 8' fence in her back. And boy does she have stuff back there. Counting down the days I am out of here.....

Hey, neighbor! It's the kids who run rampant in the hallways of the building causing most of the mess. Ive complained, but nothing is done. I was told by one person that she sends the kids to play in the hallways so her husband can sleep after work. Huh? So the rest of the building gets inconvenienced? It's not a safe play place, plus it interferes with any peace the rest of us might want.

And, oh yeah. The kids make a huge mess daily in the hallway. I don't see their parents cleaning it up. But then their parents won't care until their kids get hurt running up and down, playing ball and riding their bikes in the hallways. then they'll sue Connolly.

Connolly needs to clamp down on the kids loitering (playing) in the hallway daily. They need to fix the elevator so it works longer than a day at a time. They need to fix and provide access to the laundry room.

The other night I saw drug baggies laying in the hallway. Yeah, that's a safe place for your kids to play.

Yes, this is the East Front Street "Towers."

I have never been so disgusted with anyone as with Connolly Properties. There is no regard whatsoever for tenants. There is no service. Trash is not collected for weeks at a time. There are dead cock roaches in the hallways. The elevator is not working a major part of the time and there are senior citizens as tenants. Repairs are not done. There was construction ongoing with noise and construction filth every day of the week. Calls to the office for assistance are not returned. There were at least two burglaries of tenants where there was no sign of forced entry. Workmen would walk in apartments unannounced and apologize when they realized someone was home. This frightened a child. Water would be turned off for a day at a time with little or no notice. There was little or NO heat for about 1/4 of the winter. The tenants received shut off notices from UGI. There was a notice from the city regarding a 30 day notice to vacate the building due to code violations. Most tenants have moved. At lease two of us are still waiting for our original deposits to be returned. We are in the process of seeking legal counsel and will share all of the pictures of the trash, bugs, filth ETC! when we hire Counsel. We will also share everything with The local newspaper if our deposits are not returned.

My mother resided in Settles Place which is on the corner of Plainfield & 7th and I really don't know where to start because my list is long. I did see the lawsuit where Maribel is the plantiff and Connolly are the defendants. Interesting, because Maribel was the same person who showed my mother her apartment, had me co-sign for her, we both 'agreed' but with our comments via the fake application checkoff list that the apartment was to our satisfaction. I also find interesting that she was involved in the beginning but now a change of heart. I could be wrong but something doesn't smell right here, but that's just my two cents. My mother is elderly, collecting SS benefits and Connolly did not care about fixing/replacing one single thing inside her apartment after numerous complaints. And would you believe there were NO doorbells for the tenants in that building. So, if I was visiting my mother, I'd have to call on her phone to let her know that I was downstairs but get this....I put in a request at the office asking if they were going to get doorbells....know what they did? They pasted a dollar-store door bell, the only one mind you showing her apartment number in the lobby of the nasty building and it did not work - go figure. She has since moved from there and is happily residing in a senior citizens building where she's paying over $200 a month than what those lying, untidy crocks charged.

Connolly Properties needs to go under and I look forward to the day when they do! Good Riddens!

This is the most horrible example of property management I have ever encountered. I lived on the fourth/top floor of an Allentown, PA property. I moved 2 months ago. They stopped picking up trash. They stopped paying the oil bill which resulted in no hot water for the entire last week I resided there. The one woman in the building that had a child had to warm up the water on the stove so her infant could take a bath. The elevator broke intermittently in the two years I resided there. The toilet flushed after about 4 tries. The water didn't go down the drains so when you took a shower you stood in several inches of water before you were done. Of the 3 washers and 3 dryers in the basement, 1 washer and 1 dryer worked. I lost quarters constantly and the office never refunded them, of course. After being there about a year, water stains appeared on my living room ceiling. I called the joke of an emergency line and didn't get a response. The water stain turned into water dripping all over my stuff. I called the emergency line and they maintenance guy told me that it must be because of the way the rain/ice was laying on the roof. Well duh! What good does that do ME? So the leak continued, at which point I had to move my furniture away from the wall and had a bucket catching the water every time it rained...the damage to the ceiling tiles becoming more and more apparent. I photographed everything. Called the office constantly. No one came. The ceiling tiles eventually fell. They came and "repaired" the ceiling and then the water stains started again and occurred on the other side of the room, so I had to put buckets over those leaks. Then there were water stains in even more parts of the living room. It was at that point I gave my 60 day notice. I've been gone since the end of May but I have yet to have my security deposit returned to me. I am on my "final notice" registered letter to the office. They people in the Allentown and NJ offices are complete idiots, and totally unresponsive. I have the law on my side with the security deposit. I've done everything by the book, documented everything and yet they fail to return the deposit. I've called. I've mailed and now it will come to court. You'd think they'd just be done with the matter. I call EVERY day. I wonder if anyone else has had problems with a security deposit return... What a terrible company.
