I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find Hardy's Salve? It used to be made by a man who lived in Cornish Flat, NH many, many years ago. I believe he made it in his cellar. I still have 1/3 of a stick left in it's original orange box. It's a wonderful substance but I've not been able to locate anyone who knows anything about it. If anyone has info on this, please respond to: grimmyrepr@yahoo.com

Hardy's salve was a stand by when we were kids..we all ran barefoot and constantly had slivers!

Now I use ichmathol....a drawing ointment that we get from the vet to draw abcesses from horses hooves.

Hasn't killed me yet!

My father, when he was a boy during the depression, slit his knee to the bone with an axe. My grandparents applied a poultice with Hardy slave. He was bed lain and fevered, but pulled through without getting gangrene. I don't credit the salve with his salvation as some old-timers would--he was lucky in the way most poor people weren't. There's a reason why it's not commonly used. It's not an antibiotic. Medicine has markedly improved since Hardy's invention in 1834. Put it in a curiosity museum next to bloodletting and leaches.

I would also love to find this stuff. We grew up with it and it drew out slivers, drained boils. Loved it. I can't find it anywhere.

I was a nonbeliever until I used it as a last resort on my daughter's infection on a toe. Made be a believer. Someone bought the recipe and produced it for a year then quit making it when they sold their other business. I and many others would love to have the recipe and put it back on the market
