I just tried to read this article and it came up with a hugh ad over the article. I waited over a full minute only to read about selling my car. I know this is the new model for profits but I lost interest in the article and have a very negative impression of the ad. I will try to not click on dailynews.com in the future.

thanks for the ad

The advertising on this website has gone too far...the site is now broken in firefox. Are you people retarded?

There's big gray boxes left once the ad animation ends and you can't even read the article. I highly suggest you email yahoo and complain about them so Yahoo finds another local affiliate.

If you are using Safari, you might try "click to flash".

I would love to read this...but some goofy ad took over the page and I can't get rid of it! Oh well. I hope it was good. So much effort on the writers part, then not even readable. Shame...

To block annoying ads, download Firefox, then install the following add-ons: Flashblock and Adblock Plus. I had to disable them to see the ridiculous ad you folks are talking about. After using Firefox for years, I'd forgotten such monstrosities existed.

And BTW, you folks didn't miss anything anyway. The gist of the article is: "Maybe Salinger wrote some stuff over the last four decades of his life. Or maybe he didn't."

All these sites do that. This is why I have a program that prevents pop up ads unless I click and allow it either temporarily or always. My choice.
