Peck and his dismal record should be investigated and exposed. He needs to be put out of public office along with his political pals like Hurtado, Freemarek, Cammack, McCafferty and the Bonuchi duo.
I can see the majority of the folks listed...But, how does Hurtado fit in with this bunch???

Look at Peck's website. I don't trust anyone who has endorsed this moron Peck by allowing their name to be included. Get rid of Peck and his group of chronies.

The posts that challenge Peck's credibility disappear from Topic routinely. A recent discussion about the proposed Plainfield Township senior center addition questioned the plan and possible connections to Senator-hopeful Peck. Now the discussion disappears. Does Peck believe that he can hide his political dealings by removing discussions that question his political integrity?

For those who missed the original Garrett Peck post that has now disappeared:
I used to work with Garrett at CDW-G and here are my recollections:
In spite of everything that follows, he was very good at his job. Had he just kept his head down, he would’ve had a long career.
But,
He would scratch, claw, bite and hit low to grab contested accounts
He was loathed by everyone in his city (department)
He routinely torched the accounts of the people he was backing up to the point that no one wanted him handling their business when they went on vacation.
He “skated”(ie stole orders from) anyone who was taking a vacation. I would check Garrett’s 9 screen all the time to see which of my orders he was planning on swiping.
And he carried on like it was all part of the game, blissfully unaware that no one in G would lift a finger to help if he was being mugged in front of the building.
He had a handful of friends by the time he left, or rather, was escorted out by security.
You see, Garrett’s greed and self serving attitude extended beyond the work day.
He was canned for selling Microsoft academic licensing to a side business he set up and selling it to unsuspecting regular Joe’s at a few bucks off commercial price.
If you’re an idiot like Garrett, it’s pretty brilliant because you pocket $150 each time you do it, but anyone with a tenth grade education would see that the bosses might catch on to one dinky little account buying tons of MS boxed product.
Alas, the pseudo crime is the domain of the pseudo ethical.
CDW-G was thrown in the Microsoft penalty box for a few weeks and I couldn’t ship any academic licenses until the bosses were finished groveling.
A former coworker who resides in Plainfield told me of his fate. I can’t say I’m shocked. Politics isn’t a far stretch given his track record.
Awesome! sounds like a real stand up guy,

That might be the worst excuse I have ever heard. Passing the burden on to other people is what you consider good? A sales tax increase often leads to people shopping else where. While the increase may still raise revenue local business takes a hit to profit margins. Some can't hire new employees some have to fire current and some have to close up shop. In this economy business is becoming more and more competitive and an increase in sales tax can weaken how competitive a company can be.
Not to mention that the people of Shorewood are still paying the hire sales tax. Just because they don't make up the largest consumer group doesn't mean they don't feel the pinch. They either pay more or they are going some where else to spend their money. How is this a good thing?
The good move would to have been to cut sales tax and draw even more outside consumers and allow current business to grow and encourage new business to start up.
The sales tax was allowed to be enacted because of a referendum voted on by residence of the Village of Shorewood.

I understand back in 2009 the folks at the Plainfield Television Group were looking into Peck’s dealings with District 202. FOIA disclosures show Margie Bonuchi’s department bought more than $1,250,000 of computer services and classroom TV projectors from Garrett’s company, Magik Technology Solutions. In the middle of their digging, the Village, led by Trustee Peck, cut off their funding ending their report. Coincidence? In June 2011 the Herald News reported the District sent Peck another big order – this time $288,000 for software and more TV projectors at more than $1200 a pop. Bronchi distanced herself from the bidding this time. Could the people at the Herald and Plainfield TV possibly know something Mr. Peck wants to keep a secret?
