Yesterday I spoke with Lockport Police Chief Dave Draksler about use of my identity. He had an officer investigate Topix and believed that crime had been committed. He forwarded this information on to the Will County States Attorney. He was told that a Grand Jury is meeting on Wednesday. My complaint will be included for review by the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury will subpoena Topix for the IP address of the person who posted in my name.

I hope that Topix cooperates and provides the States Attorney with the IP address. If they get the IP address I will file a lawsuit immediately.

Now just be a stand up guy and let everyone know who it is when you find out. Don't let anyone talk you out of your complaint. This person took a horrible situation and used it to try and smear your name. Show the voters you believe in justice and not turning the other cheek because they offered you something or forced you to let it just drop. Thenwe will know we have a credible person who might run for alderman or mayor.

My case number is 12-22478.

This case will be part of the Grand Jury on Wednesday. A subpoena from the Will County States Attorney for the IP address will be generated and sent to Topix.

Now it is up to Topix to cooperate. If the Will County States Attorney obtains the IP address of the person who assumed my identity I meet that person in court.

I can assure everyone who reads Topix that should this person be found guilty of using my identity I will post their name on Topix.

The posts about Jackie Rudd (the daughter of a long-time friend) were so offensive, that I took it upon myself to do some research on the issue. In the event John Connor of the Will County State's Attorney doesn't wish to proceed criminally, there is a cause of action that can be maintained civilly pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 224, whereby you can pursue discovery against Topix to identify the offending poster via their IP Address, etc. If it comes to this, you can follow this path.

I think it is important to inform everyone who the IP belongs to not just if he's convicted.

Maybe I made the mistake. When you use the term 'you' does that refer to the imposter ? If so, in the context of this thread, you should identify the form of the noun specifically rather than using 'you' under a thread started by the real Darren Deskin'.'You' would mean a response to Mr Deskin not the imposter. If you are referring to the real Mr Deskin using 'you', than refer to my other response. Notice in sentence number two the word 'you' is speaking to the writer 'a BIG mistake'.
