6am would be your best bet. You will still hit traffic, but probably not as bad as 7, 8 or 9. 7 may not even be that bad but 6 would be better. Plus, you should then get out of work by 230 (if you start at 6 with a 1/2 hr lunch) thereby missing the horrific return trip home!
I am on the road at all different times. If you can avoid 8am or 9am, you are better off.
Good luck!
I drive to the northern suburbs every day from Plainfield.I take 59 to 126 to 55 to 355 or 294 I leave the house at 5:00AM to 5:10 daily and hit 126 @ 59 about 5:15 and unless a train passes it is usually pretty clear to 55---but if I get a roll-over kiss then 126 at 5:30 to 5:40 the long single line builds--At 5:50 you can bet on a slow/stop condition--6:00 =forget it --It's bumper to bumper. If you can't get out of the Chicago crowd(say 294 & 55) by 2:30 to 2:45PM you'll be in a stop and go/slow at 83 & Weber. No relief here until 7:00 PM
