Yesterday i went to see my nephews play football at four seasons park in plainfield. And what I witnessed, was a disgrace! These teams from PJC, running up the score against other teams, was completly ridiculous! One of the boys' games, they won 63-0!! I understand the nature of the game is to win, but to embarress another team~a team of 9 and 10 year olds? PJC should be embarressed themselves by their actions! I stayed and watched other games, and witnessed the same thing~games being won by 40+ points, with the other team shut out. I overheard coaches as well as players, bragging about how awesome they were for shutting the teams out, etc. Is this why PJC plays in the conference that they do?? So they can "dominate"?? Maybe they should play teams closer to home, and see what happens there. I cant see any other reason why my nephews will need to travel almost 2 hours next weekend for their games~except the fact that they are clearly in this league for one reason. Youth football is supposed to be a learning experience, and NOT learning how to ridicule others!

Disappointed I totally agree with you, and my son plays for the PJC team. I too was embarressed for the other team, for my family and for my son. I really this is travel football, but most of the teams we play dont have an in house program, so they have to play with what boys sign up. PJC gets to grab the best 18 kids out of a couple hundred. On behalf of myself and my family I will apoligize for the dispectible display of sportsmanship by the PJC Middleweigh Premier Team.

Sorry

This happens year after year. Pjc was kicked out of River Valley conference years ago for cheating. They claim that they play in the league they are in, for better competition. But, there is plenty of competition closer to home. Their teams are made up of coaches and board members kids, and they even have kids cut weight so that they can play down at a lower level. Im all for competition, but when they are having kids starve themselves, or run the day of games in garbage bags to make weight, so that 12 and 13 yr olds can play against other towns 10 and 11 year olds, where is the competition in that?? And, they play against towns that dont have an inhouse league, so they dont get to "pick" who plays on those teams~they get kids who simply register, and need to teach them fundamentals of football. Which, is how it should be anyhow.

I too was embarressed by the arrogance of the coaches for running up the score. I know, had the game been reversed, my son would have felt terrible, and his coaches would have been complaining that the refs werent making good calls, and that the opposing team wasn't playing right. We have been in this league long enough to see how one sided it is.

I've watched PJC play, and im just saying they wouldnt be a .500 program if not lower if they played in Pop Warner. The competition is probably the toughest in the State. I know hey scrimmage the Napervile Chargers last year and got spanked. Anyone can play the little sisters of the blind. They need to schedule some games against Rockford, North Shore, Park Ridge, Naperville, Chicago Jokers and see how they do. My educated guess would be 0-5 against just those teams.

We have to travel almost 2 hours next weekend. They tell us, that we are in this league because there isnt enough competition in leagues closer to us. But, seeing what happened on Saturday, certainly indicates that they are in this league for one reason only~to dominate. Do I love to watch my son win? Absolutely. But, games that are so one sided like that, arent even fun to watch!

Hey if you dont like it then leave there's plenty of other teams in the area. This is football, its the other teams job to make the plays.

I would like to comment, on the inhouse cheer program. Last years in house, was a disaster~the woman in charge was impossible to reach, and when she was available, was down right rude. We decided to give the inhouse cheer program another chance, after being told it would be different. Let me just say, that this new woman, Lisa, is a nightmare. Completly unapproachable, with the constant scowl on her face, and her concieted attitude like she is better than everyone. She makes us parents feel like we cannot go to her with any issues. Open line of comminucation?? Only if its her way~otherwise you are brushed off. I think she only took this position, waiting in the wings for travel cheer director to become available. She has zero concern for any inhouse cheer problems. Why does PJC keep putting incompetant, ignorant people in that position? It makes us not want to come back, not want to believe in "change". The problem is, there isnt any other inhouse cheer programs, and with our inability to travel, we dont have another choice.
