Part of it is arrogance and part jealousy because someone might just know more than they do, and that's threatening. Nobody can tell us, we know it all!
That's an insult to those of us who really do know everything.

Now that Texas wants to take their toys and run away, some cities want to secede from Texas.
The El Paso petition reads:
”El Paso is tired of being a second class city within Texas … El Paso has little in common with the rest of Texas. Its demographics are more similar to New Mexico. El Paso is also proud to be part of the United States and wants no part of a state whom publicly contemplates secession from our great nation.”
Should we take El Paso in?
If your state was fortunate enough to have us, we would be the Largest City in New Mexico by far.

Try again, what is now New Mexico, was disputed territory that was NEVER actually controlled by the Republic of Texas. It was still Nuevo Mexico. Then Texas gave up all claims of lands that are in N.Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas in the Compromise of 1850 to the US Govt in order to pay its debts. Then after the US took Texas in, the Mexican-American war started.
Plus Mexico never formally recognized Texas' independence. Terms of the Treaties of Velasco were never met in full.

But I have never heard of "Flag flys". Is there a spray for them? Never been bitten by a pole either.

I am still hoping that Texas withdraws from the USA and takes those whining, choking Dallas Cowboy pansies with them.
