Its interesting how many people have convicted Zimmerman from what they learned from various media sources. None of these people were there, or in the courtroom, let alone on the jury. Obviously those who were on the jury saw things from a different light and acted accordingly by finding him not guilty. Although racism is alive still, it amazes me how fast those who don't agree with a verdict play the race card immediately and use that disagreement as an excuse to terrorize and plunder by vandalizing property.

Interesting to how the Obama just cannot keep his nose out of anything that might have a racial overtone (remember the beer meeting?). Does he feel the need to assert himself to some faction of the public because he's black? He's our POTUS and should act like one. Blacks are not the only group where racism is an issue FGS.

I listened to quite a bit of the trial and I came to the conclusion that there really was no case against Zimmerman for second degree murder. I knew he would not be convicted of that charge unless the jurors were morons. In the entire case I never saw or heard anything that really disputed Zimmerman's account of what happened. It is unfortunate that a young man was killed but that does not justify sending Zimmerman to jail for a crime he didn't commit.

There have been a lot of these types of cases lately in mostly, "stand your ground" states. The killing of young black men who are provoked by, and then shot by middle age white men who perceive them as thugs, criminals, or gang-bangers, etc. I think this law is a license to for white men to shoot young blacks under the guise of "self-defense". Sad.

could be proven in a trial regarding intent to kill, motivations behind the shooting and even the basic facts about what happened were always a long shot and as anyone who has been on a jury knows, the state must prove its case. Since clearly Zimmerman set the whole thing in motion with his profiling and violated pretty much every rule for doing neighborhood watch, the culpability and blood is on ultimately on his hands. I was and am still surprised that they tried for a murder conviction. Florida seems to even have a high standard for manslaughter, but it would have been a smarter and more just approach to try him for that from the outset, rather than as a last minute afterthought. Federal civil rights charges would be difficult to win as well. The civil action will probably be successful, for what that is worth.

I think that you have to assume that almost everyone is carrying concealed weapons now days and act accordingly. I guess gang bangers, thugs and criminals need to beware.

I feel bad for the Martin family, but lots of young innocent black children get killed in Chicago daily that don't get the media and political attention as this incident did.. I blame, Al, Jesse, Holder, Obama, Black Panthers and the media for making this a racial issue... Lots of people carry guns... So, don't be punching people or knock them around for the heck of it, or you might just NOT see another day.. That's the choice Martin made...Following a person is not illegal, getting out of a car is not illegal, but assault on another person IS illegal .... If anyone were to punch me in the face and pounded my head into the ground, I would also fear for my life, and gladly shoot them... That's called self-defense, PERIOD!!

Sad to think it might be coming to that. Everybody should be concerned about paranoid idiots who feel the need to carry weapons everywhere.

And I still don't care or have ever cared one way or the other about Zimmerman or Martin. My only thought about this is that on that day they were both looking for trouble and found it.

Ask the jury, they heard the evidence, not the media or myself.

I disagree with you last assertion, and I suspect most others would also. Yet sadly there are some racists out there who would, and they are not all White either. Had the tables been reversed the media would not have given this whole thing the attention they did. They are the entity fueling the fire here. BTW, Zimmerman is Hispanic, not White.

Obviously the jury saw otherwise. You listened to the media, they listened to the facts.

Were there less criminals, the public wouldn't find itself feeling safer if they are carrying. But carrying wasn't the issue here so stop with the redirection.

the point. I don't think the jury could have honestly come down any other way.
