She will get away with it. CHP will let her off the hook like that state senator a while back. Ms. Baumann should be thrown out of office and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and I hope that means jail time. She should have known better especially at 56 years old. Idiots. So many idiots in public office these days. Disgusting.

No one should be above the law. In this case, the county supervisors screwed the county in a closed door session and agreed to the new casino after saying they'd fight it. I guess money talks.(Yes, I'm still bitter)
This is proof that these people are phonies and shouldn't have been elected to scrape up wounded/dead animals off of the road.

But, you know what.... If nothing happens to her, that won't necessarily be different than the average Joe... Most people don't get much for a first time DUI... I'm sure she'll get the standard slap on the wrist.

Is this right? No. But, as long as she gets what any other person would get for a first time DUI, then it's fair. She'll lose her license. She'll get a DUI class, have to go to meetings, etc...

Now, the real question is, should those that govern us be held to a higher standard, and as such be held more accountable than the average Joe? I say yes. Cops and elected/appointed officials should be held to a much higher standard, and violating the public trust or showing such poor judgement should be met with harsher penalties that the average Joe.

With power comes responsibility.

Sometimes people need to understand the mental stresses of being a person in office. The responsibility, leadership, hard work, dedication and keeping a level head. Plus getting paid all that money! So what! She could’ve killed someone but, she deserves to have a good stiff drink once in a while for all the things she’s done.

Didn't Helen gerrymader her district? So vineyards and wineries are grouped with El Dorado Hills and Serrano money? Anyway, this DUI and arrest couldn't have happened to a more appropriate person. Maybe now, she'll get off her high horse. Typical republican hypocritical behavior from 'ol Helen. I'm glad she's survived the crash though.

True about the casino. You can't trust her to do the right thing.

Helen Bauman is one of the supervisors responsible for runaway growth in El Dorado Hills, those that actually voted for her should have taken a deeper look at who funded her campaign - like the rest of us wise-old owls did.

Hope she gets thrown out - FINALLY!!

And I hope the citizens of the county don't get hoodwinked like they did before - watch out for Nutting - he's a sly old dog too - might end up with a mall here soon...

So, the CHP will let her of the hook? Why then did they arrest her in the first place? They could have let her go then. It looks to me like the CHP did their job, now it's up the the DA. If you really think they let Assembly Woman Migden "off the hook" then you probably don't know how the law works or her personality. That would explain her driving. How many first time DUI offenders receive jail time? Almost none. But, you know what? Let's just blame the CHP because you don't know what your talking about. It's easier that way.

NOTHING will happen to her. Maybe the shame of having her picture and the article about her careening across the road (and back) will at embarrass her--it should! Next time, call a cab missy.
