The little Basset puppy squirmed and grunted in Connie Kramer's arms. The black and brown pooch with droopy ears had a hernia that would have cost his owner more than $1,000 in vet bills, so the puppy was given ...

Beagles and Buddies are overcrowded because their dogs are totally unaffordable! We visited this no kill facility to adopt a dog and they wanted $500!! They then offered to drop the price to $450. Still unreasonable in my opinion. I understand they run on donations, but come on - isn't the main objective to get their dogs into homes? Instead we went to the local animal shelter/dog pound and adopted a dog for $37. We love him - he's the best "buddy" we've ever had!
You too? Read my comments! It happened to us too! We have our beagle we bought it there. THEN, I found out they go to the animal shelters and buy up the beagles and other smaller dogs. They would not lower their prices for us to buy another one. How sad.. how very sad... Thank goodness we did buy our beagle there. We love him so much and he is adorable. Wish we could get another but not at their costs.

THEN>>>>>> they told us about a "vet" in Alhambra that would give us the first visit free! NOT!!! WE called and they said they had no record of our dog, he was supposed to have been there for all his shots. So... we went to our own vet! Our former dog has passed and they knew us and they have been our beagle's vet since we've had him. They people are lying.... how terrible. They probably do find good homes but who gets the profit? Do they spend all the profit to go buy other beagles at the shelters?? I doubt it.! Oh well.... never again... it's the animal shelters for us if we ever get another dog.

Folks if you have misgivings about Beagues and Buddies you should come to City Hall this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. 11333 Valley Boulevard. The kennel owner is trying to open a 3rd operation next door to her two existing ones. She gets alot of people from out of town to come a tell the Planning Commission what a SAINT she is and how awful it would be to not give her the approval she wants. If you have a different side to the story you should come and let the Planning Commission know about your experiences.

I don't know what happened at the El Monte city council hearing about the Beagles & Buddies kennel license but Connie Kramer is a mess.

She is a disbarred attorney who makes her living off her exorbitant adoption fees for the dogs she "rescues." check this out: http://members.calbar.ca.gov/fal/Member/Detai...

Her litany of malpractice charges is shocking.

I wouldn't trust someone of her character to take care of dogs, and she has way more than she can handle.
