And just what it is that you do to go out and confront the so-called bigotry, outside of posting your views on here?

People used Christianity to justify slavery and the subjugation of women. They were wrong then and they're wrong to use their religion to justify discrimination against homosexuals now.

A Red Herring is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented in order to divert attention from the original issue.

The basic idea is to "win" an argument by leading attention away from the argument and to another topic.

This sort of "reasoning" has the following form:

Topic A is under discussion...

****..OBAMA..****

A DO NOTHING, LEAD FROM BEHIND, FOUR YEAR FAILURE.

Topic B is introduced under the guise of being relevant to topic A

(pick one)

1. Fluke…………..WAR ON WOMEN / CLASS WARFARE

2. Martin.………..WAR ON BLACKS / GUNS / CLASS WARFARE

3. Buffett Rule…. WAR ON MILLIONAIRES / CLASS WARFARE

4. Romney Dog..WAR ON PET OWNERS / INCITE PETA

5. Osama bin Laden..WAR HERO OBAMA / COURAGE ABOVE ANY MORTAL

6. GLBT…….SHAKE DOWN THE GAYS FOR CASH / DEFLECT CONVERSATION FROM ECONOMY

(when topic B is actually not relevant to topic A).

Topic A is abandoned.

This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because merely changing the

topic of discussion hardly counts as an argument against a claim.

..........

Topic A

oBUMMER a four year failure

Obama and the man who paid him to announce his support of GAY marrige Clooney raised $15mm the other night. this link has some interesting tidbits, but this one stands out for sure:

This dinner marks the 133 fundraiser Obama has attended since announcing his reelection campaign 13 months ago, the most by any presidential candidate in history.

133 fundraisers in 13 months? really? an average of 10 per month for over a year? I guess he doesn't have much else to do. WHAT a joke!

Mitt Romney targets $8m on multi-city Florida fundraising swing.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is planning to hit up at least five fundraisers in Miami, Coral Gables, Tampa, Jacksonville and Boca Raton on Wednesday and Thursday of next week (May 16, 17).

Total fundraising goal:$5 million to $8 million for Romney Victory, Inc., a joint fundraising primarily composed of Romney’s campaign and the Republican National Committee.

The numbers may seem jaw dropping, but in a state where it costs at least $1 million a week to run a competitive ad campaign. Romney and the PAC supporting him spent at least $12 million in Florida’s January primary, a supporter says, and Republicans are bracing for President Obama to spend anywhere from $75 million to $100 million to win Florida, without which Romney can’t win the presidency (remember: Gov. Rick Scott spent about $76 million).

Those wishing to attend the photo-op VIP receptions at the various venues will have to drop $10,000 per person. The conventional receptions are $2,500 per person.

Those who want more access will have to drop $50,000 per person Wednesday for lunch at the Avila Golf & Country Club home of developer Dick and Cornelia Corbett in Tampa. Romney finishes the night at the Star Island manse of pharmaceutical magnate Phil and Pat Frost where dinner costs $50,000. In between, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. there’s a fundraiser at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.

On Thursday, Romney begins the day at a to-be-determined fundraiser in Jacksonville from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. There’s a $50,000 lunch scheduled but no venue yet. From there, he heads to the Woodfield Country Club home of Marc J. Leder of Sun Capital Partners in Boca Raton. Dinner:$50,000.

A mysterious firm that gave $400,000 to help elect Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has direct ties to a married couple who already are among Romney's top Florida fundraisers, The Associated Press has learned.

The $400,000 contribution from SeaSpray Partners LLC to a "super" political committee, Restore Our Future, is at the center of a new flare-up over loosened federal rules that effectively permit anonymous and unlimited contributions to influence the presidential election.

The contribution came from Gerald and Darlene Jordan, according to Susan Lynch, an executive at Boston-based Hellman Jordan Management. Hellman Jordan's website describes itself as a "specialty equity investment" firm and Gerald Jordan as a senior executive. The Jordans are top Romney fundraisers in South Florida and hosted Romney at their Palm Beach home last week.

Lynch told the AP that the couple had received the $400,000 as part of an unspecified investment disbursement, which the Jordans asked to be sent directly to Restore Our Future. She said the Jordans received the money as members of SeaSpray Partners LLC and directed it to the super PAC instead of sending it to their normal checking account

Republican Jewish Coalition co-founder George Klein, who had reportedly backed Newt Gingrich, and Cheryl Halpern, the former chair for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and a one-time Rick Perry backer.

At these high-dollar fundraisers, donors are pledging $50,000 to $150,000, according to several in attendance across the country. The minimum expected for the small, more exclusive dinners is usually $75,000, but many are opening their wallets and writing much larger checks.

Romney's Tri-State Swing: Six Fundraisers and a Few Unanswered Questions

Governor Romney seems to be afraid to share his budget plan with the American people," said New Jersey Assemblyman John Wisniewski, Chairman of the Democratic State Committee, during a conference call on Tuesday morning. "Maybe when he's in New Jersey, he can share his budget plan with the folks in this state."

Wisniewski charges Romney with being vague about which federal programs he would eliminate to pay for proposed tax cuts, saying that the candidate's budget remained "shrouded in secrecy."

"He's so light on specifics that he admits that his plan can not be scored by the tax and policy groups that usually evaluate those plans," Wisniewski said. "Maybe the well-heeled elite who are coming to this fundraiser will get to hear the plan, but average Americans don't."

The Assemblyman also called on Romney to follow Governor Chris Christie's advice and release more of his tax returns. To date, Romney has only made public his 2010 return. He has filed for an extension on his 2011 tax return that would allow him to put off public disclosure until weeks before the election in November.

You Dan the Man do not know the Bible, you may think you're a Christian but you are not.

The issues you support are not and I repeat not Christian.
