Thank you for this article. You have opened the door and allowed hope to visit those trapped in the Child Pornography Abyss. We now dare to temporarily believe that perhaps somebody does care about this injustice. It is ruining lives daily. Many of those incarcerated are also innocent.

The family of Ned Solon has started a web site to simply record the story of his conviction for Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography. It is an attempt to record the facts. Hence, the complete transcript of most hearings and the trial are posted. Ned is preparing a 2255 appeal now, but if we face facts realistically, we know this appeal has little chance. There is a CHANCE, however, that the injustice done here will someday be recognized and stopped before more innocent lives are ruined. Your article will help that!

And when the injustice is corrected, I hope it will be retroactive to those innocent people who are now in prison and had no idea the subject matter listed on the indictment was on their computers. These people exist. For all of them, I say “Thank You!”

To punish someone more severely due to a prosecutorial perogative is fundamentaly wrong. To protect children and society law enforcement should be focusing on the producers and purveyors of child pornography and those who knowlingly serve the pipleline that commercially distribute such material via the internet. Unfortunately, the market is saturated with free images, imprisoning those for a mouse click instead of effectively blocking such sites from reaching subscribers is a poor choice for our law enforcement resources. These laws do NOT serve justice or make our communities safer.
