It is a problem of finances.Catholic Schools do not receive taxpayer subsidies like public schools. It is claimed that this violates the separation of Church and State.Yet,if given a choice,I will say that most parents will choose to send their children to private Religious schools over public schools.I attended Catholic parochial and High School.I would not change it today!Public Education,to be brief,is a joke and a bottomless money pit.

Too bad the Catholic Church is spending so much money on politics. I guess that's why they can't keep the schools open.

Right after the state funds Islamic and Wiccan schools, the Catholic Schools can get their funding. And since the Catholic Schools would accept no government controls on discrimination and educational standards, then you can't tell the Wiccans and the Muslims what they do with your tax dollars.

I don't know where you get your info that the Catholic Church is "spending so much money on politics?"Since when is the Catholic School System the only Educational system that is in financial crisis.Haven't you heard of the US Taxpayer funded public education system.I don't give a damn about teaching Islam or Wicca. If you want to teach Islam;go to the Middle East;if you want to teach Wicca, then go to hell?

10+ Million dollars in lobbying and direct payments to anti-Gay election campaigns over the last 2 years (including one 4 million dollar payment from the KOC).

I have never, ever seen such financial date.I seriously doubt that such records are accurate at all.The US Catholic Church, including the Catholic Knights of Columbus, simply do not have these kind of discretionary funds available?
