The Bull Sh!t and expense Wegmans had to go thrue over ten+ long years to get to this point.
They should have just pulled out of Rochester all together.

I am sure (hope) many businesses have payed close attention to what Wegmans and the Genesee Brewery have had to go thrue.

Genesee was smart when they said if the deal wasn't approved by X date they would invest the money elsewhere out of state.

I'm sure the will be getting all the new tax breaks from the city for new stores to open up in the city, even tho its at the same location.
It's more of that white suburban welfare.

That location will have an all time low for shoplifting the next 3 months - but wait till the new store opens. It will be just like the Tops over on Winton/Blossom with all the theft.

Wegmens is over priced on most items. "At wegmans you get our best" and you'll pay for it too

Too bad. East Ave was never my "neighborhood store," but it was always my favorite. It was small. It was urban. It was convenient. I've been to the new Wegmans' down in Northern Virginia which are the same models as this new one they built. They're cool, but they just don't have the same feel. Also, do they really need underground parking AND an expanded parking lot? The new store isn't nearly as big as we'd like to believe. There is going to be a huge empty feeling driving down East now. Turning East Ave into Jefferson Road... RIP East Avenue Wegmans
