7,500 square foot Downtown Substation ?

7,500 sq ft???? Is that really needed???
Is it going to by staffed, meaning less cops out on the streets?
Does it mean they will be no need for the cops to leave all their car running parked along side the road in no parking areas?
Isn't the Police Headquarters already downtown??
Is 7,500 sq ft the biggest substation that the RPD has ever had?

To be fair, 5,000 sq ft will be for cells, an exercise area for prisoners and a waterboarding equipped interrogation room.

7,500 sq ft, will be enough room to store all the police horse for the RPD and the Sheriffs.
Soon the RPD will be the only tenants in the whole building.
