Full story: Brattleboro Reformer![]()

We had a large thunderstorm in Hinsdale last week…the winds knocked over tons of trees on our electric lines…left Brattleboro untouched. A few days later it hit Brattleboro and missed Hinsdale. We’ve had a set of severe thunderstorms and micro-burst. Does our storms set outside summer norms?
Are the outlines of our future in our region, with climate change…is it severe thunderstorms and more tornadoes? Is this just a taste of what is to come. How often, what severity…how many tornadoes. |

Keene Sentinel:
“Shocking reminder of the Power of Nature” We forget about how much a threat to us is hypothermia...cold and hot. I wonder what the average count of lightning is in our area and the historic trends...you know they can count each lighting strike. United States: During 1979--1997, the most recent years for which data are available, an annual average of 371 deaths in the United States [1] were attributable to "excessive heat exposure"†(median: 249; range: 148 in 1979 to 1700 in 1980)[5]. This translates into a mean annual death rate of 1.5 per million and a median annual death rate of one per million. |

Funny thing, that weather. It keeps actin' up.
Git a rope! |
Is that a respectful comment? |

I can remember many tornadoes in NE over my life time.
Global Warming is nothing more then cloaked code for anti-corporations, anti-globalization, anti-business, and anti-wealth. |
Having carefully considered the possible consequences of making light of the weather, yes, it was a respectful comment. However, my respect for those who try to blame nature's events on power generation, driving a car and being productive (ie-carbon output) is somewhat limited. Man made GW is a hoax. Very real to some, but just another hoax to myself. All of this commiserating about the weather, to try to link it to the evil human is silly, but it is splashed across every paper every time we have a thunderstorm. |
By your reckoning, faarting would also be "being productive". And I'll bet that's the most productive thing that you do, since, to judge by your words, the rest of what you do is counterproductive. Yeah, climate change is all just a plot by the liberal media and "leftist forecasters". Don't believe what you read, or see. |

XXX,
"This is a disaster movie come to life.” People see more of my ideas than they see of yours. http://www.sentinelsource.com/articles/2008/0... SENTINEL EDITORIAL: Has New Hampshire become a deadly storm center? Excerpts Published: Monday, July 28, 2008 11:58 AM EDT Are these biblical rain storms now a regular phenomenon for New Hampshire — flooded homes and streets, misery, destruction, even death? Consider the evidence. . . . This is a disaster movie come to life.” Hinsdale was a close second in tragedy, suffering damage that’s still visible. As always, the people of New Hampshire, the utility repair crews, the National Guard and the rescue workers responded to this event with courage and determination. We are all getting very good at stiffening our upper lips. But the question that’s again on everyone’s minds is the question that still cannot be answered. Is this string of rain-driven catastrophes just the result of an unusual run of bad luck, or is it part of a meteorological pattern that we are going to have to deal with year after year? It’s beginning to look as if it’s the latter. And if so — given how brave and courageous we all are — it would be nice if the people of New Hampshire could have a few years off for good behavior. |

I continue to be completely amazed at your total inability to comment without projecting inaccurate words/comments upon others. You MUST be a "news person" |
Well, woop de friggin dooooo! Reading this post, you are one of those guys who talks alot and noone is really listening, because you aren't saying anything!!! Are you actually trying to talk down to me because "more people see more of your ideas than mine"??? If so, what a desperate, meaningless little twit you are.( a la "do you know who I am") And, if so, you are way too kooky and I should no longer engage you in this or any forum. Thanks for the good laugh though. |

Torrential rains, lightning hit NH... again By CAROL ROBIDOUX New Hampshire Union Leader Staff 20 hours, 44 minutes ago MONSOON SEASON may sound a bit drastic, but even the weatherman knows wet when he sees it. "It's like a monsoon pattern," said National Weather Service meteorologist Eric Schwibs, of the consistent rain that has filled to overflowing everything from streams and rivers to sewers to swimming pools. "As for the forecast for the upcoming week? Unsettled. Nothing really organized, like heavy rain, but the kind of pattern where there's a chance of rain just about every day," Schwibs said. "Wait --Tuesday may be dry." |
Mongoloid, you like to use that word, "projecting", whenever I disagree with you or call you out where you're wrong. If "projecting" is your word for disagreement, call it what you like. Just don't expect it to stop; you're not going to shut me up that way. |
"By your reckoning,.." is how your post started. How is that NOT projecting? |
This is uncanny. You did it again.I did not tell you to shut up idiot. You can disagree all you want. I am simply asking you to stop putting words in my mouth, that I did not say. Get it? |
You're still doing it! And the answer is the same, so listen good: No, I won't stop expressing my disagreement with you, under any name you choose to call it. GET IT???? |

The Alstead flood, a number of years ago, was eluded as a product of GW, even stated in their own charity book. -But it was nothing but a poorly designed and unmaintained culvert that backed water up until it failed and a 30 foot wall of water decided to seek lower ground. Had it not been for that culvert and the 40 foot elevated road that covered it then no loss of life and only wash outs like in previous years and decades.
So the 12 inch rainfall had nothing to do with it.
It was the Haliburton / Cheney hurricane machine!

Ho Darth Vader-ish of you...swine!(sarc) |
