The more Alyce L talks, the less I like her and hopefully the jury feels that ways too. How can base her thoughts of Travis being abusive when she spoke to him and only goes by what Jodi tells her and its a proven fact that Jodi lies. I have never read a biography on someone that only has their accomplishments and no family background. What is SHE hiding?
Wow ANOTHER good point! I can't wait for Mr Jaun to latch onto her!

who would you all have ALV ask? The Mormon Mafia that all look alike? Travis built a house of cards that has all fallen down now.

I'm very impressed with the intellectual level of this forum...great analysis. This trial is raising my BP and ruining my retirement, but, I simply can't stop my pleading at the monitor/tv for justice, and that would be to keep JA off the streets forever, however that happens. This ALV witness is surely a man-hater and is performing very well for the concocted stories of JA and the publicly paid Defense Attys. You know that everyone, including the witnesses want to pad their wallets with our public money by extending this trial with nonsensical irrelevant minutia. I can't give credence to this man-hater ALV's delusional blathering. If she wants to be involved in legal trials, she should sue her barber. Hopefully, Juan Martinez will bring the real truths out from this quagmire of deception and lies. It is common practice for the Defense to try to confuse the jury with so many things, and they hope just one will bite on only one illegitimate lie...eg., the moon landing was not real! That will probably come up before the conclusion of the trial! I really feel for the family of Travis.
Well know you are not alone! I am on dissability.....and I have watched this mess from the start. I agree with you about his family. His poor Grandma died before the trail started. But this "woman" and I use the term lightly. Sent her flowers......the nerve! I have learned that Arizonia has an amazing bill of rights for the victims family. May they get peace through all of this mess. We support you all!

Glad to disagree. Alyce has been a credible and powerful witness on the stand. She applied excellent tools setting limits with Juan in a courtroom on TV. Not easy to be calm when a pitbull is charging at you. I admired her request for Juan to respect her as she did him. Most women freeze during a confrontation or get defensive and out of control. Something to learn from a domestic violence expert. Jodi's trial is not for us to poke fun at people. It is a story of all of us and our desires, secrets and passions. All of us can learn great lessons from this and not be dead or in jail. Thank you all for sharing your comments but I really saw it in a different way, to learn from it all!

I am a therapist with the same qualifications as LaViolette, and I am appalled at her violation of those who are truly battered women. She has sold her soul for a few dollars and a few moments of fame. It is an enormous ethical violation to make judgements about a real victim, Travis Alexander, without ever hearing his side of the story. The Jodi Arias trial is about a vicious murder and a lying murderer who should have been diagnosed as a sociopath. Arias is the abuser, but LaViolette is on a mission to paint her as a victim based on lies. A disgrace to her profession.
Oh how I wish someone like you would be called as a witness to counter the "man hater". At least you see through the BS!

Also, I tried to think about heated argument situations and how males respond to it. In my experience, if there is an argument and the female starts storming off, the male might pursue her, grab her by the arm and try to stop her.
I think her story about being kicked in the ribs, body slammed and ending up with one broken finger on her left hand is not substantiated by any evidence such as a witness or even evidence of being treated. She claims Travis splinted her finger. I once had my finger slammed in a car door by my sister, went to the doctor, had it splinted for a week and it's perfectly normal with no residual defect.
She admitted she did all the damage on Travis's body and we're supposed to believe she is a shrinking violet who couldn't defend herself?
As for Go Ask Alyce or Alyce in Wonderland, I do believe she has suffered in her life in some way, but I can't speak as to what caused her to be such a strong advocate for victims of domestic violence. I know she worked or volunteered at a women's shelter. She claimed she does not work with families...ever. She is a licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (her credentials online) but she doesn't work with families?
The magazine was O (oprah's magazine). And I did not hear the books, but I am sure they are something about poor you, HE abused you etc. I was a victim of DV in high school all the way back in the 80's. And I never used it as an excuse to kill someone. I used it to help people with it. I worked with abuse victims with our women's crisisline. IF she was abused....and I don't think she was.....there was plenty of help she could find. Hell she drove 1400 miles to kill him. Time to pay for her crime. Period. Not time to kill him again with her lies. I am wonder why she taped the phone sex? Had this been planned all along?

Wow! With due respect, it is dialogue such as this that set Casey Anthony and OJ Simpson free. Many do not know what "drinking the kool-aid" means because they are too young. It refers to the 1978 incident where 909 Temple members died in Jonestown, all but two from apparent cyanide poisoning. Jones served up an elixir, "the kool-aid" to kill all these people in an emotional plea because he was confronted with truth and the police. Arias has been basically the only source of kool-aid for LaViolet to formulate her erroneous prognosis. She is regurgitating all the lies that Arias has conveyed. That information is nothing but lies and defamation to Travis. Another person on this forum said ALV is ready to retire with the bag of money from this trial added to her bank, so she doesn't care. Martinez is exceptionally passionate, and he elevates his tone when he detects deception. Respectfully, please don't take a drink for Arias; she is a malevolent con artist who will step on anyone if she thinks it will aid in her defense. I am very happy to read that you also are willing to learn during the process. Some of us have followed this trial in great detail. As you obtain more info, the truth will certainly be evident for you. Some say that it is not what you say, but how your say it....that is just sipping the kool-aid. In legal, facts matter, not emotion. Police do not get involved emotionally during an interview; they cannot chance being manipulated. Martinez cannot let them pour the kool-aid for the jury. Unfortunately, one person can hang the jury and maybe set Arias free in a re-trial if they get involved with the emotion of this trial...it has been a roller coaster. My sincere respect to you....

As I follow this trial, I have observed that Martinez uses a roaming technique and then pieces the pie back together for himself. He possesses a great BS meter to find the truth. He will circle around and put this all together later. His closing will be the subject of future law books. I am still waiting for him to ask her about boiling the frogs she mentioned yesterday. The defense was allowed to run all over the place because it is a murder 1 case. Otherwise the judge would limit all the BS to try to confuse the jury....Be well

Jodis mom said in the police recordings that she asked jodi if she had went to Arizona. Jodi told her no and that she had gas receipts to prove it. This was right after the crime. Obviously she planned early on to use her gas receipts as a alliby. Proves she took the gas cans to cover her tracks.

Jodi claimed in her journal that Travis wanted to get a gun and put it to his head. This was in 2008. She had previously reported that while cleaning in 2007 she found a gun in his closet. So if he already had a gun why does he need to get one? BECAUSE he didnt have a gun!!!!

PRECISELY! Good observation. I heard that but it didn't register. Incidentally, people say things like that in jest all the time. That is all Travis meant expressing frustration about something. I've heard it many times from someone who is joking. BTW, I have a 25 auto; it would be very easy for a woman to use. Some pistols are harder to load and pull the slide to load the first round....Be well...

I believe she is or was married to a John Walker LaViolette, but it could be it's kind of like the Ina Garten with her husband, Jeffrey and all of Ina's gay male friends she entertains while her husband is away "working"...

I wish they would have made the Barbie Lawyer wrap it up quicker. I kept falling asleep and I hear tale the jury was yawning and spacing out or nodding out. Then Juan M. finally got his turn and I was upright and paying attention. Unfortunately, he didn't get started until late in the day. I'm not sure when the court proceedings resume. I don't think Ms. LaViolette stands a chance with him. Lawyer Barbie was not happy when she kept getting overruled when Juan was going down the "Snow White was a Battered Female" road.

This woman has sold her soul for money and is a damned disgrace to TRUE victims of abuse. Travis Alexander was stabbed 29 times, throat slit from ear to ear, and shot through the head.

Yet this freaking vile woman claims Arias was abused? Anyone defending her or Jodi Arias are without conscience!

Thank you for giving me the name of the magazine.

Thanks also for commenting about her recording the phone sex tape (she admitted she was faking it like the scene in "Harry Met Sally" and I believe she was going to hold onto it as an Ace in case he didn't do what she wanted him to. I think she was furious when she found about Lisa Alexander and others Travis was either seeing or engaging via text/IM/email. I think she realized she couldn't control him, so she wanted to destroy him. It wasn't enough for her, however, to kill him. Now, she is destroying the memory of him and dragging his name through the mud plus torturing the family emotionally. I have read but can not verify that the family is filing a lawsuit against her. I'm not sure if they are still in court every day. I did notice her parents in court. First her mother and then her dad also.

Does she realize that Jodi only uses magazines to write in with her stolen pens? She is not a model prisoner and has been caught getting in fights and then crying self defense. She had several stories about her dad knocking her unconscious, a boyfriend or someone else choking her and then she adds Travis to the list. If these stories are true, is her personality such that she pushes people over the edge on purpose and then plays victim when it gets her in hot water? If Travis was so violent, why didn't he grab the knife and turn it on her? Oh, maybe because she waited until he was wet and slippery with soap to confront him? What a conniving coward.

http://www.kpho.com/story/21312106/jodi-arias...

I like that they say Jodi holds herself out as being smarter than others, but she gets caught.

I looked up Arizona and as far as I can ascertain, there are women on death row, but Az has yet to actually execute any of them. If Travis had lived in Texas and she pulled this stunt, she would most likely get the death penalty and executed like Carla Faye Tucker and a few other females who committed crimes worthy of execution.

Blackmail! I am wondering if after her little sexcapade she didn't play it and threaten to use it IF he didn't take her on the trip? I do not think Travis was stupid enough to tell her to tape that. Remember people, that was PHONE sex. Fantasy! The back and forth emails were also FANTASY! He never acted out on them. SHE started the affair with a BJ and then allowed the anal sex. That was HER decision to rope him in. I do not believe the rope story at all. Taping that call was her last attempt to blackmail him into doing whatever she wanted because she thought or knew it would ruin him.
