The business has been misguided & mismanaged by the last two CEO ,s and the present Head Hunter that's in charge now ! Who's ever steering the Board of Directors had turned it back on a proud & faithful community and generations of Crane and workers family's that proudly worker there for over 200 yrs.. They have all allowed the "inside the Beltway " politicians of Washington ( who know nothing of the paper making industry ) to lead them down a destructive path . The whole failure of the new 100$ bill , creasing , and to date a rejection of the world backing was due to the Washingtons printing ignorance and as usual form the inside beltway people , they lay the blame on Cranes . In short they installed new press,s and lacked the knowledge to "run them" .their are family members left , but I wonder if they have what it takes to save a fantastic business .

Couldn't agree more. Anyone who had worked there for years saw the gradual decay of the company from the great place that it once was. Then they have recently sold out to corporate America and these headhunters are sucking all the money they can out of it before Crane becomes another "former industry" in Berkshire County that will only be spoken of in the history books. Through the years, they put some of the biggest idiots imaginable into the highest positions in the company. Every division, at every level saw the good, qualified people get demoted, fired or otherwise alienated in order to put uneducated, clueless, headhunting a-holes in their place that could care less about the hard workers of the company!! I'm sure that the original Crane founders are rolling over in their graves to see what has become of this company!

Ha ha ha not a thing has changed. The button pushers who suffer from mill rat mentality always think they know how to run a business yet they are not even capable of managing a paper route.

Good point Case , it all started with the untimely accidental death of Fred. Then the lunatic chris got involved and they brought his phony brother Lance to keep an eye on him and he promptly picks up a O.U.I.in Goshen mass., then we get Mr. K who would not know a piece of banknote from a napkin ! What we need is a " Crane with a Brain " sorry , none left ! Very sad indeed.

. NICE ! If you really were a " boss " that's the very kind of " know it all mentality , I,m a legend in my own mind " additude that has sunk this company ! I was fortunate to work in the mechanical field in my short 28yrs. there . In that time I met some very intellengent , dedicated, loyal and hard working individuals , many of whom handed me a wrench when needed ,or helped in any way they could in the wee hrs. of the Am as i worked to get things up and running . I feel sorry for you . I recommend you watch Undercover boss, maybe then you can understand what the " life on the floor " people face today & I,m sorry you never got your hands dirty cause you missed some important lessons in life .

So in your world if you aren't lifting something then you are not working? Some people make money with their backs and others with their brains. I prefer to let your type do the lifting. You guys remind me of the over paid under worked Generous Electric mill rats that drove GE out of Pittsfield.

Your attitude sounds like you want to look down on us so be it & you sound like a Legend in your own mind too !

. No complains from my end , we played as hard as we worked . And remember every mill on the river was running 24/7 , that's the point of all of the above , how it was mismanaged.

Very, very poor management. The big decision makers were never held accountable for there blunders , and there were a few.

Don't worry , Crane just got a new shipment of white boards in.

Now "mill rat boss"and the rest of Defalco's puppets will save the day.
