Should Mayor Ruberto remove Bill Hines as PEDA director based on his firm Interprint being fined $385,000 by EPA for several violations? Is this who we want running this important city project?

This is EXACTLY the kind of people Ruberto surrounds himself with. Check it out..why do you think he was appointed in the first place??

Interprint continues to employ in excess of 110 people and the fault for the fines was not intentional, as no one really understood the regulations but the EPA does not consider ignorance of the law a valid excuse so the fines were levied anyway. Bill Hines has more entrepreneural savvy in his little finger than any of you Roberto haters.

Y/w
"EPA does not consider ignorance of the law a valid excuse."

The EPA is as corrupt as thee the rest of the Gov, systems.
They covered up all their obedience to their law in....
The Housatonic River, Hill 78, Silver Lake, The PEDA properties, The Rose Pit, The Play grounds, Peoples private properties, William St. pit, The 3 landfill areas, Pease Farm, and a host of others, now they are going for south county to do the same. It's all a show and I saw it all from DAY ONE. GE rules over EPA. Let no one fool you. JR and Barrett are only Gov puppets, who have fooled you all.

Billy Hines has been is business a long time and he knows the laws. Stop covering up for him "Sanity in MA". He stabbed Hickey in the back
on orders from the Mayor so he could get the PEDA
Director job. As for his fingers, its not the little one we should be concerned about!

He got the taxpayers to fund a sewer pipe all the way out to his business. Then he glommed onto the gravy train no show job at PEDA. I agree ...he is no idiot.

You complain about taxpayer money for a sewer? Ever wonder what your tax rate would be without Pittsfield companies like Interprint? Or what your electricity bill would be?

My tax rate has gone up despite them, my electric bill has gone up despite them. He gets special treatment for his business from the Mayor. He gives big contributions to the Mayors campaigns and is rewarded with a job at PEDA. Time for change.

What does the electric bill have to do with it? And as the sewer went out a mile and a half to his business it did not divert an eighth of a mile onto Cloverdale st. to accommodate homes that have been paying taxes for 50 years. That says alot about what Ruberto cares about his flock. If you don't contribute to his campaign then poop on you.

Dear Poop On You et al,
The electricity comment was because the comments seem to be so anti-business, and anti-employers, yet they also carry the brunt of your electricity costs. One has to check the timing, but I'm not sure Ruberto was even elected when the sewer plan was put into action.
I cannot understand the hatred toward those who have bettered the lives of hundreds of families, plus the citizens of Pittsfield who desire a vibrant city in which to live.
You should look inward and decide to embrace something positive. Perpetual negativity is was this city was mired in during the 80's and 90's. Today there is life here...embrace it and enjoy it.

Concerned Citizen, you should look inward and put down that bottle of gin! Your defense of people unworthy of your support is wasted. Today there is tax breaks and sweet heart deals for the connected and nothing for the rest os us... embrace it and go on to a better life.

it should not be difficult for "Concerned Citizen" to look inward, what with his head stuck up his ***. Embracing and defending Pittsfield's officially unethical guilty repeat offender mayor is repugnant. Putting down that bottle of gin might prove more difficult once the fog begans to lift and "Concerned Citizen" sees the light and the dirty truth of Pittsfield. No doubt it will surely make him want to crawl back into that gin bottle where everything is beautifully foggy. But so as not to be completely negative here's wishing everyone and that includes "Concerned Citizen" a politically incorrect Happy Holidays.

I'm sure there's medication for that. And by the looks of that sprawling mental complex on Fenn St. your misery has alot of company. Happy Holidays!

It's a cruel joke that the Obama EPA is fining a local small business nearly $400,000 when multi-national GE has gotten off relatively scot-free despite the fact that GE's chemical pollution in Pittsfield is so extensive that an argument can be made that the entire city should be considered a 'Superfund' site.
Anyone care officially to count the number of Cancer clusters in neighborhoods throughout the city?
If Obama's EPA is fining Interprint six-figures for minor infractions, what is the long-term poisoning of an entire city and its populace worth?

Why should a private company like Interprint be required to subsidize private homeowners' purchases of new wood stoves?
This is yet one more example of federal income redistribution under Barack Obama, and of how Obama's personal brand of Socialism has influenced federal agencies like USEPA.
