Police protect steroid abuser

There are 13 comments on the Berkshire Eagle story from Mar 29, 2011, titled Police protect steroid abuser. In it, Berkshire Eagle reports that:

The last time I looked the taking of steroids unless prescribed or under a doctors supervision was illegal, and isn't ordering and receiving steroids through the mail a federal offense? . If it was you or I that was caught, we would be arrested and charged with a crime not just suspended from work.

Well it appears that's one of the perks of being an "elite" member of Pittsfield's drug unit and Berkshire County Drug Task Force. The state police appear to expect more from their members than the city of Pittsfield's "acting chief" Wynn and Pittsfield's officially unethical guilty repeat offender mayor Ruberto expects from the PPD.

Mr. Valenti,
The old saying is that the fish rots from the head.
Isn’t Mayor James Ruberto the city official ultimately responsible for management and efficient operation of the Pittsfield Police Department?

Re: the incident your source reports taking place this past weekend wherein an off-duty officer got into a brawl and was stabbed.
It is reported that using anabolic steroids can lead to extreme behavior including extreme violent behavior, what is often referred to as “roid rage”.
It sounds like the Mayor should immediately order the acting police chief to have the officer, alleged to have received the knife wound, to be given a drug test for steroids.
If the city police union balks, the Mayor, in the name of public safety, should go before TV cameras and reporters and publicly tear up the City’s collective bargaining contract with that union.
That’s if Mayor James Ruberto has the stones to take on a city employee union.

If that baboons ass of a mayor ever had any stones his dearly departed dead wife Ellen most likely still has a firm icy grip on them where ever she is. Pittsfield's baboons ass of a mayor is not concerned with the safety of the public.

Cops are liars and thugs and instigators. No doubt McHugh is clearly an instigator. He got a brain injury when his got his ass kicked after he probably instigated a bar fight and then he got stabbed in another off duty incident so that would make him a thug too and I'm sure he must have told some unbelieve story to cover his ass. But today all the liars, thugs and instigators will be celebrating all the good dead cops.

And as luck would have it Pittsfield if you can believe it has another alleged drug scandal, unbelievably allegedly involving cops. I really don't expect anything from the new mayor on this alleged issue. After all he has important things like cancelling third Thursdays and reinstating cancelled third Thursdays to deal with. And as you can expect these are very important time consuming issues affecting quality of life that is very important here in Pittsfield.

and thugs. So a free pass from capeless for a scumbag in the PPD doesn't surprise me. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time, and it won't be the last. I've been in court when cop[s] have lied their f****** heads off under oath and that appearently is just fine with capeless, dirty vile putrid piece of shit that he is. Personally I wouldn't care if some of the cops in the PPD got drug and high and wrapped their vehicles around a tree, just not in my front yard. It would probably be the only honorably thing too many of them ever do.

Appearently illegal drug use by an elite member of the drug unit is not a career ender. Obviously there are exceptions and a cop, just one, can be armed and on illegal drugs. I guess we can all be thankful that the steroid scandal only involved one cop in the PPD.
