One would think that the penner of this article might have included the thoughts of Mayor Ruberto on this matter. One would also have to think that the help of an experienced full time professional like Ms. Malumphy would be much more help to the city and the region than temporary fill ins that will take her place. The Mayor and Ms.Ruffer have caused the entire region to suffer because of a personal political spat.Shame on the both of them. This type of behavior has no place in Pittsfields business, and the both of them need to explain their actions.

Hasn't Ruberto learned ANYTHING about playing dirty or using your position inappropriately???? How the heck can these people in good conscience, be playing these games when someone is actually in a position creating jobs for those of us who continue to be unemployed? Deanna can quote all the fictious numbers she wants, but I can assure you Berkshire Works continues to be full of unemployed people and foreclosures are rising in this area, not falling...THOSE numbers tell the real story! I think Pam has chosen to live her life honestly and is not letting these toxic people take her down. Good for her! Bad for us:( How did Deanna let herself slip over to the dark side so easily? I had higher hopes for how great she could be...guess I was wrong. Ruberto, no surprise as to the quality of his character..haven't we already SEEN the answer to that?!?!?

Sour grapes. You couldn't work with your fellow councilers also. The voters didn't like you or the job you did. Hang it up.

Reading her track record it appears that when she does not get what she wants she resigns.... HHmmm not someone you want in your corner... Looks like she will jump ship before the ship goes down.

Although, I agree there is nepotism in city politics, she certainly won't be missed. The best way to classify her is to compare her to Ruberto and Barrett.....Carpetbaggers. Jobs are at a premium right now, she should be happy to stay in one position, her musical chair style of resigning from good paying jobs, non profit or for the state and city end, is quite frankly amusing.

I am starting to be impressed with Melissa Mazzeo and her determinative style. I like her fortitude, style and guts, plain and simple! At first I thought she was a one trick pony. View the council meetings, president Lee will not keep her quiet like he does some of the others. Here is hoping the meetings last for hours, because quite frankly, the discussion that the mayor and others in the administration want, should center around longer meaningful dialogue, and questions with transparency. This voting for agenda items without asking questions is a slap to the taxpayers, we know who they are.

She talks more than Kerwood, if that floats your boat.

I,m not a betting man, but i,m saying the name BARRETT will surface !!!!! Heres the "inner circle" Jim R, Ruffer, B. Hines , A Strucuzzi, A. Mick and at least 3/4 of the council. Ms.Malumphy been attacked from all sides, we had our chance to "change" the political landscape and 100+****** in ward #4 just didn,t see through the smoke & mirrors.

I know from personal experience that if you are unliked by jimmy and company that they will stick together without mercy to bring you down in your personal life while roadblocking with their varities of power ones rights to be protected, for justice or even a voice. I have spent 20 years
here and have documentation to back up what I say, I have been everywhere but they are all either "in on it" or "afraid of it". when will enough be enough here in Pittsfield?

As a voter i did like her, it was common knowledge ruberto was going to get her removed.
This is old news. She is not the only one he has tried the bully tactics with.

Mayor Jim Ruberto twice under investigation bt the ethics commission, a real stand up guy!
Wasted tax dollars at PEDA and a possible unethical firing of Tom Hickey and Ruberto good pal and political contributor gets the job.
Just wonderful!

Hello Everyone...I wanted to clarify a few things with the article which was disappointing given the amount of information I provided. I didn't resign because of 'an inability to work with Pittsfield officials...' I resigned because they refused to work with MOBD as long as I was in my position and I have multiple emails to prove this (which I only Mr. Dobrowolski reported). And that the mayor or Ms. Ruffer are yet to give one concrete example of me not performing my job well. Instead, they make vague statements like 'it's past politics.' What in God's name does that mean? Tell me I did something inappropriate or unprofessional...prove that I wasn't doing my job...but they can't. I also resigned because my undersecretary, Michael Hunter, was perfectly willing to characterize Ruffer's and the mayor's behavior as 'irrational' and 'dysfunctional' to me but would not resolve it...it is an election year, afterall. I resolved it for him by quitting. The constant malice from City Hall was fairly overwhelming but when someone who has the capacity to do something about it does nothing, it was time I did something. And it's time we all do something. How much of this ridiculously mean-spirited melodrama do we all want to take as residents and taxpayers of this city? And that is the final point...public servants are there as our employees, they are there to be in service, they are there to behave honorably for all of us. Can anyone characterize the actions of this administration as having integrity, honor, or ethics?

Your not suggesting the all-mighty eagle has a political agenda? They protected ruberto all thru

Unfortunately, saw this coming. After the School Board incident, it was just a matter of time.

"integrity, honor & ethics..."

Bottom line, he was voted in. Not by much, but he was voted in by the people. Crazy. Best of luck PM.

We lose a good person like Pam, yet we still have the team of maggot's, ruberto and ruffer' in office. That makes no sense, but nothing does since this administration took control. Bullying and intimidation is the norm, ethics and honor is scarce in Pittsfield now.
