Pittsfield politics produces teen pregnancies, welfare caseloads, job loss, PCBs pollution that causes cancer in local residents, crime, and millions of dollars wasted on North Street. Can Dan Bianchi change any of these social problems?

Curing these ills would damage businesses and the livelyhoods of many people who profit off these miseries. What makes you think Bianchi would even want to change these social problems? I don't believe Bianchi wants to fix these problems anymore than the any of the other mayors going back to at least Smith, but it wouldn't surprise if it goes back further.

It appears the answer to all these ills is to build bigger cancer centers instead of dealing with the pollution causing the cancers. Expand mental health on Fenn st., add more clinics for people with drug addiction problems. Send MicHELL Wynn to Israel to see how they deal with terrorist and terrorism in Israel, get in some sightseeing and go to a private mass said by an Italian preist instead of dealing with the gangs and drugs infesting this city today and yesterday and no doubt next year. Shortchange students in the public schools and brag that steps are being taken to get 3rd graders to read at a third grade level, someday, so that when they have their babies in 8th grade they'll at least be able to read at a 3rd grade level. Spend millions of dollars and designate downtown a cultural district so as to give the illusion that Pittsfield is a thriving metropolis. Build a multi million dollar airport adding to the illusion and in the process devastate a once beautiful landscape so that in now resembles a warzone.

One of the main problems in the city was the school budget and the school committee fiefdom. He has shown no inclination to alter that mess in any way so...gee sorry Dan, can't vote for you agian unless you are running against somebody worse. Like Ruberto or Marchetti, or Krol.

The only reason I voted for Bianchi was because our choice, if you want to call it that, was between a bad choice, Bianchi, and a worse than bad choice, Marchetti. There was no good choice. Or in others words they were both really crummy bad choices. We were getting stuck with one of them. And the forecast for the next election looks just as dismal.

Next election, just like the last election. You can vote for this sh*thead or you can vote for that shi*head. You can count on it. The next mayor will be a sh*thead, just like the last mayor.

Congressman Richard Neal beat Luciforo by 40-points last year. Maybe Luciforo should retire from Pittsfield politics.

Would love to leave the city...and could do without regrets. It just seems so complicated finding a new home and a new job. am I trapped here forever and ever??

Is Bianchi tied to the GOB ? He has retained most of Ruberto's appointments and administration, but isn't he in a different political group ?

WHEN the mayor allowed his couisin to take children over state lines and bring them back intoxicated it shows that he is weak bianchi should have pushed for the d.a. to investigate. since he remained silent it shows that he cant make sound decisions this is suprising seeing that his assistant donna mattoon is sheriff bowlers assistant. this whole situation stinks and should be remedied if bianchi wants to move forward.

I couldn't believe this was swept under the rug. But then again it's all in who you know! If it was my student athlete I would have gone nuts! And then they even had an article in the paper saying it was the Coach's that were drinking! Well we all heard it was players. What a JOKE, didn't know they were related! Now I get it, but who is pulling the strings at the eagle to not publish the truth?

Were you pissed when the last mayors friend had a big party on North st with all the underage kids drinking? What was the name of that restaurant again? Spicy something I think. I think that got swept under the rug as well. Bianchi was not around for that one though. There was another mayor at the time. What was his name again?

Always upset when these incidents happen, my post wasn't an attack on the mayor, I am just disappointed in the trust and responsibility we put into our coaches to he let down in such a way! Wrong forum...

It was the teen beer blast eatery, allegedly hosting underage birthdays and it receieved the most generous tax gifts in the history of the city thanks to the former irrational, dysfunctional, hostile, threatening dirty rotten baboon's ass of a mayor, guilty of multiple ethics violations. It was celebrated as the jewel of the city.
