Is Cliff Nilan available? We need someone with virtue and credibility.
Very interesting

Interesting list to choose from. Although I hold no personal grudges against any of them, I only see 2 choices that make sense. Malkas and Williams. Of course we have no clue who may be coming from the outside to interview when that time comes. It'll be very interesting to say the least.

from the outside.....might be nice to wind up with someone not programmed into the GOB for a change....can that happened with the current school committee chair?
oh no

I agree. I think all the hoopla about finding a new super is just for appearances. I think they did it the same last time when everyone knew it would be Wonderboy Jake.
Maybe Alfie will get his relative Carmen M. in.

I didn't have a problem with Jake in the role. I just hope it's someone who can keep the structure and the district moving in the right direction. The increases may not be as much as people would like but they have been steady over the last 4 years. Just hope it can continue. With politics, who knows what will happen...you have the Republicans saying that education should be in the hands of the states and out of federal hands etc. etc. I doubt that'll ever happen, but it would be nice. We'll see. Always something to talk about and have fun with. Have a good day all.

Williams is all smoke and mirrors. My daughter goes to Reid and doesn't even know who he is. She calls Mr. Carr her principal.

He knows his stuff. He had HUGE results at Allendale and is now getting HUGE results at Reid. Can't be THAT lucky don't ya think? He's gotta be doing something right.

He did not have HUGE results at ALLENDALE...he was only there for a year. He was only there for approximately 7 months before the MCAS was administered that showed the test results that you are referring to. He had nothing to do with the 5 years of education those students received before they took the test. Again smoke and mirrors.

I didn't see any state recognized action at Allendale before he was there. That's my point. Now he's getting the same recognition at Reid. So you can dislike his style etc. but you can't ignore performance in 2 different arenas? Honestly, if you're biased that's one thing, but there is hard data showing performance here. So your smoke and mirrors is a little over the top. The common denominator is his leadership no matter how vacant or whatever you want to call it. Whatever he's been doing IS getting results. The numbers don't lie. I'm not saying it's all him, because that's no where near the truth. BUT, the leader of the building sets the tone, the strategies (along with a team), and the rest is up to the players. So I'm with you if you're saying it's not ALL him. Definitely not, NO principal makes it happen 100%. But again, smoke and mirrors...not quite.

Nice to hear from you, Morgan. BTW, is it true you were an underwear model?

Jake is all smoke and mirrors too. So maybe Morgan would be a good replacement?

Ah smokey, smokey, smokey. No, I'm not Morgan, however, I'd love to make that kind of loot. Just making some observations. Once again, numbers don't lie so jam your smoke and mirrors. If Williams moved to high school principal and got results there as well, would that be smoke and mirrors too? BTW, I wish I was an underwear model...not quite though...sorry to disappoint lol. That's my opinion smokester...do what you will with it. Have a lovely smoke-free day :-)

I agree.
How about Tracey Benson as next super? He's doing wonders for PHS....NOT! And he's almost as arrogant as Jake.
Morale and performance at PHS haven't been this low since Jake himself was principal.

I don't think some of you people will ever be happy no matter who's the super. LOL. No one will EVER be perfect or even close to it.

we have the perfect person right under our nose - TERRY KINNAS - vastly knowlegable, unmatchable experience in the business world and stellar experience in the field of education. Terry is a down to earth guy who knows what the taxpayers want and how the man on the street feels. His happy-go-lucky demeanor belies his serious side. Hopefully, the search committee will recognize this before someplace else grabs him like they did Cameron.

He is ridiculous, he talks to hear his own voice. He asks questions (nothing wrong with that) and once their answered he asks the same questions again. Meetings would be 5 hours long with him at the helm. Look, there is NOTHING wrong with a good devil's advocate but Kinnas is a different story. I'll be honest, I HATED the idea of him on school committee. But so far he's doing a fair job, outside of the redundant questioning that gets answered over and over again. But as the Super???? No way in a million years...that would be tragic.

Ha ha! Absolutely not. It's a lie that gets told and retold, all by him. Can't believe it's still going around, but that's largely due to his constant retelling. He told my friend just last week, and I could not stop laughing when she told me.
