It should come as no surprise to anyone that the self-indulgent Dan Bianchi is demanding a recount in the mayoral race.

How ignorant can a person be sandra .You must not have watched or listened to any debates ,articles ,or listened to anything but the babbling brook in your mind. Roberto was the one slinging mud and acting like a spoiled child. during the campaign .Bianchi was a class act all the way tru. Yes for the people of Pittsfield there should be a re-count .this was way too close and hearing of machines going down at certain polls.Yes not only Dan Bianchi but for nearly half of Pittsfield there should be a re-count.Sandra I hope your not as ignorant as that article.

Go for the recount. When people really believe all was fair and square they don't get this itch to look at it one more time.

Let them do a recount. Then he will know that he lost AGAIN and maybe he will move on. And yes if you watched the debates with an open mind, which I did because I did not know who I was voting for yet, you will see that Dan did enough mud slinging of his own instead of just addressing the issues.

Face to face mudslinging, not paid for mailing$.. that could qualify as dirty politics of the 20's. Heck, you probably were in favor of that FENCE around PONTOOSIC LAKE that former mayor DOYLE took down, because people couldn't see the Lake from the road, what did that cost taxpayers? And do you think the ethic's charges against the Mayor are free? Want more examples?... or would you like laws that are in place and respect Democratic Law.

Get over yourself, Sandra. The mayoral race was not about YOU. Get your shovel out and get rid of your own dirt.

The margin between the two candidates was less than 1%. The law about election recounts exists not to cause irritation to the other candidate or his supporters, but to ensure confidence in the democratic process, especially in a close election.

It's my understanding that Dan is still deciding whether to ask for the recount, so you may get your wish anyway.

Meanwhile, this kind of petty, nasty, snarling, vapid attack does not reflect well on the writer or on her candidate. Why do you hate democracy?

Very well said. This writer should be happy that her candidate won. Instead, she's still
slinging mud. Sounds like she has a personal issue with Dan Bianchi. She should settle it on her own, instead of putting this ridiculous letter out for everyone to see.
She just made herself look completely foolish.

Ruberto beat Bianchi 6658-6449. A 209 vote margin divided by 13,107 votes cast is 1.6%, not less than 1%. More importantly, there are 14 precincts and they voted in a primary only weeks before. I've perused the two sets of numbers and they seem to track. Nothing is jumping out at me to suggest an anomoly approaching 200 votes. Absent that, there likely will be some discrepancies that pop up, but historically they offset and don't change much. The last recount I recall, was 1987 when Imelda Lamountain edged Jerry Doyle for the fourth at-large spot. There was a net change of one vote. Now you can engage in your sophistry and portray this as some sort of hatred of democracy or Dan or anything else. But in point of fact, unless you or Dan is seeing a major anomoly in the ward numbers, this is a waste of time an energy.

Mayor Elect Bianchi's office
must be occupied for 2 more
years by the status quotient.
We will have him on a 2 year delay!
Do what has to be done to ensure this!

Dear Eric, heard you were in Connecticut, ugh. I am still here in your town of Polaookaville, as a taxpayer and voter I would expect either candidate to recount. THE TALLY, GOOD LUCK. Are you a card dealer at a Casino, thats the rumor.

ruberto nd his supporters were good at slinging mud and untruths all through the campaign, why stop now? The rumors and threats used by the president of a localcredit union (Greylock) were inexcusable and he should ne investigated, but the people he threatened are probably afraid of retribution. Lies work for ashort time Angelo, but never in he longrun.
