OK, been there & done that, so I understand. As much as it would suck, I would have to get two jobs (night/day) and maybe even a little something on the weekends. Yes it would suck,(even with wages and limited jobs here in BC)but it's better than dealing because sooner or later you slip, then you're really screwed.
That is what I would do.
It is also immoral!

I am sorry "family member" but these two guys do not care about their families at all. They both have been doing this for so long their time just came. This may be bad for them but will actually benefit society and probably save lives. Great Job NYSP thats thre groups of bad guys heading to NA keep up the good work. Best part is these are all white guys and no one can claim racial profiling, but they may try argue idiot profiling, cause thats what all these guys that you have arrested are.

Why has the Eagle already placed this article into archives? The story is less than 48 hours old. What are you trying to protect?

I will look at this from both sides. I know of a person caught for having marijuana who was probably going to sell it. This person isn't a bad person, but in some circumstances the system was making it impossible for him to survive off what he made. At one point he was receiving pay checks in the amount of $0.00 dollars. This person had followed the rules with child support and payed what he owed. Sometimes the courts are unfair in this department. While it is illegal and and people caught should be penalized, there are circumstances when I feel I can't blame a person for trying to get ahead. Until one sees the way the system can work against a person, one should look at both sides. Some don't do it just for greed, some do it because they feel there is no other way. I stand firm that when you do it you take a big risk of getting caught and the consequences are yours to face, but let's face it folks, the economy really isn't working in our favor now is it? If it really came down to it what would you do?
I wouldn't deal drugs, that's for sure. I've had my share of crappy paychecks (commission job, if you didn't make your numbers your pay was docked) and at one time worked 3 jobs simultaneously to keep a roof over my head and my lights on. Since the economy is against us, as you say, would that mean holding up Cumby's or a bank would be ok too?

I have been reading all of these comments that you are writing. The bottom line is that you have 2 guys that also have families, and they might not have made the right decison at this point in life, but no one is perfect and that does not mean they do love their families. you are not going to tell me that you all live a perfect little life and have made no mistakes. The only people they were putting in harms way, was there own. Everyone makes there own decisons in life. So all of you need to stop and think about the wrong choices that you or someone that you know have made before critizing others. Stop and Think . What they were doing is wrong but a maximum sentence of life in prison is a little harsh. For crying out loud they did not kill anyone. If you take a life then you deserve life, they did not hurt anyone.

I am certainly not trying to advocate dealing drugs, but i indeed find it a little coincidental that we have seen 3 drug busts on the taconic involving people from massachusetts in the past month. Do you think drug runners suddenly got stupid over night, or is it likely that these dirtbag police in ny are profiling cars from massachusetts, pulling them over for no reason, and moreover violating their constitutional rights by searching their vehicles without any legitimate probable cause. I know they say all three were speeding, but i don't buy it

They are the ones that should have considered the impact that their getting busted would have on their families!
We are simply doing what we do,commenting on the actions of DRUG DEALING SCUM !
If these negative comments impact their family, that is on the drug dealers conscience!

OMG! are you kidding me? They may not have killed anyone, but, if they were still on the streets-they could. reference: the current case of a North Adams dealer being charged with Manslaughter. Lets be thankful they were busted before anyone did die, because it was a definate possibility. I sympathize for the children, but they are better off not having a drug dealing father in their lives. Yes, everyone has made stupid decisions at some point. I agree. But to keep making the stupid decisions over and over again? Come on! These guys lack morales, and respect for the people around them. They deserve what ever they get.

Sorry to inform you, "Speaking Out Ma", but according to Cynthia Weber, chairwoman of Monterey's Zoning Board of Appeals, "It's a privilege to live in Monterey".
So obviously Monterey could not be one of those lesser towns to which you refer.
GM Hell-er
It may be a privilege to live in Monterey, but all I was trying to get across to YOU was the fact that Not all folks living in North Adams, Adams, and Pittsfield are drug dealers and drug users! You are not so witty with your comebacks these days if ^ is all you could reply with. Also, by the way, just to make it very clear, I do not condone illegal drugs being sold for any reason. The economy being bad or not. Those are excuses people who don't want to go get a low paying job use when they get caught dealing. But wrong is wrong. There is no right way to sell illegal drugs. Although we all know they are not going away. Users are going to find ways to continue to use and lose. It is a sad part of reality.
