Lest anyone forget, when Bain was done feeding off the carcass of a company, many pension funds had been decimated and were bailed out by the government/taxpayer. Most people were left with a fraction of what their pension was supposed to be.
In my estimation, the government should have then gone after the profits Bain always walked away with. Instead, taxpayers get the bill.

Steve Schmidt Says He Never Saw Romney’s Tax Returns
“I never saw the tax returns, Lawrence,” Schmidt said. Schmidt said they would have been seen by Rick Davis, who ran McCain’s vetting operation. But he didn’t see the taxes raised as an issue, he said.
“Certainly, there was nothing as we talked about Mitt Romney seriously as a vice presidential candidate as a team. We never talked about – that there was no indications there were any problems with his taxes, but I don’t know the specifics of them.”
July 22:
Former McCain adviser: Romney taxes complex but not ‘disqualifying’
Steve Schmidt, McCain's former campaign strategist, who viewed Romney’s tax returns when the presumptive nominee was being vetted for the vice presidential slot in the last cycle said Romney was an “extremely wealthy man.”
He said Romney had turned over 23-years’ worth of tax returns to the McCain campaign to vet that were extremely complex. But Schmidt also said there was nothing in the documents that would have precluded McCain from picking Romney.
"Mitt Romney went through this process and what I can tell you is that he's a person of decency with the highest ethical character and background," Schmidt said. "There was nothing that was disqualifying."

A former Bain Capital partner acknowledged Sunday that Mitt Romney "legally" remained the head of the private equity firm until 2002, contradicting Romney's claims that he left the company in February 1999.
During an appearance on MSNBC's "Up w/ Chris Hayes," Edward Conard, who worked at the private equity firm during Romney's tenure as CEO, noted that Romney remained "legally" in charge of the company for at least two years after the former governor says he left to take over the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
“Mitt’s names were on the documents as the chief executive and sole owner of the company," Conard said. Conard served as managing director of the firm from 1993 to 2007.

Colorado shooting renews focus on Romney's gun-control stance

And Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is sure to face scrutiny, given the varied positions he has taken about the legality of assault weapons, as well as gun control in general.

As governor of Massachusetts, he signed the first permanent state ban on assault weapons

When Romney ran against Sen. Edward Kennedy in Massachusetts in 1994, he backed gun-control measures strongly opposed by the gun-rights lobby, including the Brady Bill. He told reporters then that he didn’t “line up” with the National Rifle Assn., and he pledged not to chip away at gun control laws in Massachusetts.

“That’s not going to make me the hero of the NRA,” he said in an interview with the Boston Herald then.

He has changed his tone as he sought the highest office in the land, joining the group as a “lifetime member” in 2006.

“It’s great to be with so many friends from the National Rifle Association. This fine organization is sometimes called a single-issue group. That’s high praise when the single issue is freedom,” Romney said at an NRA convention last in April.“All of you can be proud of your long and unwavering defense of our constitutional rights and liberties.”

Mitt Romney Has Completely Flip-Flopped On Gun Control Through His Political Career

Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/mitt-romney-gu...

LMAO!!!!!!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! !

In the wake of the Colorado movie theater shooting last Friday, some politicians and advocates have renewed the call for the candidates to define where they stand on gun control. As Romney's speech to the NRA this year indicates, the Republican presidential candidate has hardened his position on gun rights since taking the national stage.

The flip-flop was prominent fodder for Romney's Republican opponents in both the 2008 and 2012 presidential primaries. Opposition research for Sen. John McCain's 2008 campaign, obtained by BuzzFeed, cites Romney's 1994 run for a U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts against Sen. Ted Kennedy, during which Romney took a stance that put him at odds with the NRA — and insisted that he didn't care.

A majority of Americans say presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney should release income tax information beyond the two years he's already disclosed.

The USA Today/Gallup survey showed 54% of those surveyed felt Romney should release tax returns from additional years, compared to 37% who said Romney should not release more returns.

Democrats, and some Republicans, have urged Romney to disclose more of his tax information. Democrats say additional returns will clear up questions about offshore accounts and his rate of income tax, while Republicans say it would be politically advantageous to disclose more information. President Barack Obama's campaign immediately blasted out the poll Thursday as an indication their campaign push is working.

In Thursday's poll, 30% of self-identified Republicans said Romney should release more of his returns, compared to 75% of Democrats and 53% of Independents who said the same.

ATTENTION!! ATTENTION !!
Ann Romney has enough money to afford 10 health insurance policies, they say her and Mitty go for their "yearly"check-up every quarterly. Ann Romney doesn't look to be too much paralyzed in her jet ski jaunts. Most people with her condition can't even get on a jet ski.

Democratic Congressmen Ignore Pelosi Request for Cash

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has had little success in getting rank-and-file congressmen to contribute to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

The congressmen are assessed dues by the DCCC, which they pay out of their campaign funds, based on seniority and campaign assignments. But as of June 30, about one-third of the Democratic caucus – 64 congressmen – hadn’t given a lick, according to a party document obtained by Politico. That reluctance comes despite Pelosi's plea last month for donations.

Money matters a great deal as Democrats seek to regain control of the House and maintain control of the Senate. But in June, Republican congressmen gave almost $6.4 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee while their Democratic counterparts gave only $1.8 million to the DCCC.

“In a campaign environment where Republican outside groups have billionaire funders like [Las Vegas hotel/casino titan] Sheldon Adelson, who can write $5 million checks like it’s nothing, Democratic candidates need to be better funded than Republicans,” Ali Lapp, who runs Democrats’ House Majority PAC, told Politico.

“To the extent that Republican members are giving more to Republican candidates than Democratic members are giving to Democratic candidates, it’s a problem.” The DCCC generally gets most of its funding from members.

Democrats are concerned about getting blown away in the money race. Republican outside groups will provide the party with a significant cash edge over Democrats, even though the DCCC has outraised the NRCC by about $10 million this election cycle.

Adelson has donated $5 million each to the Congressional Leadership Fund and YG Action Fund, helping to lead the Republican charge. Democratic officials worry that Republicans could double their side’s spending on TV ads after Labor Day.

Nine questions to ask Romney:

When a Federal regulator took over a failing New England bank, why did it allegedly forgive several million dollars in loans that Bain had received from the bank?

2. Why in the case of Bain’s takeover of Dade International, did Mitt Romney and his associates allegedly invest $30 million in Dade but charge Dade $100 million in management fees?

3. Why is Bain allegedly allowed to charge the money they borrowed on the books of Dade with the alleged result being that Dade was burdened with $1.5 billion in debt including Bain’s $100 million management fee?

4. Did the above cause Dade to go bankrupt causing about 2000 people to lose their jobs?

5. Did Bain receive $242 million in stock sales that Dade had allegedly “borrowed” under Romney’s management?

6. Did the repeal of Glass-Steagall allow banks to lend millions of dollars to companies like Bain Capital to buy companies like Dade?

7. Did taxpayers have to bail out any of these over-leveraged banks that failed?

8. How much money did Romney make from Dade International’s demise and how much in taxes did he pay on that money?

9. What is the effective tax rate Romney paid on that money, if any, and how does that compare to the proportionate total tax bill (sales, property, excise, payroll, social security, plus income taxes a small business owner has to pay making less than $100,000 per year in pre-tax net income.

Obama goes populist, as he should. It's time someone fights for bottom 95%. The GOP has done the bidding of their masters the greedy third of the top 5%.

Obama victory in November with coat-tails. Dems retain the Senate and regain the House .. Filibuster rules changed .. A Supreme Court in line with America's values .. Campaign finance reform .. The GOP (and the greedy wing of the wealthy elites who are their masters) permanently discredited, even among social conservatives and TEA party adherents .. The Fair Share Tax reform (google it).

Romney WILL NEVER recover from all the attention his business integrity has negatively impacted him as a business person and a person for that matter. Since he was young, it has been obvious by his doing ( as we have seen on TV ) that he believes he is above the rest because of his family's wealth. He cant connect with regular americans because he feels superior, in his heart, he is probably disgusted by what he has to do to become the most powerful man in the world. As this campaign gets closer to November, I am sure Obama will bring all the toys out of the closet, we have just seen the presents under the tree!! I cant wait to see the real dirt on Romney and Republicans. His VP will matter for 5 seconds. He is DONE. I am 90% sure Obama will be re-elected, NOT because everyone is thrilled as to what he has done, but because Romney is just very questionable. Lets remember, if it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, most likely its a duck!! I am sure there are a lot of things Romney does not want people to know about his financials, those tax returns will not be released, no matter what. If I was the IRS, I would like to look into this further!!!
