Croation foundation had hoped to turn the building into museum.
NOTE: The church is 108 years old and is the first Croatian church in the USA. The church is to be completely torned down by January 19,2013. Why does the church have to be torned down? Cannot the church be dismantled, then moved? Can't the government help release funds or at least give a monetary loan to those Croatian Christians to help pay for the church's salvation?

This church building currently on SR 28 was built from 1900 to 1904, and its site, while a continuation of the first Croatian Catholic parish in the USA, is not that of the first Croatian Catholic church, as is widely believed. And it is not the role of government to fund the ill-advised plans of private preservationists.
It's demolition is the most logical and cost effective option, and one favored by the diocese that legally, and also by church law, owns the structure. Remember the church building that became the Priory? Enough said on this topic.
