Other states that are actually growing like North Carolina divert money from the general fund in addition to vehicle registration fees and gas taxes. In our state, public education over the last 15 years is getting the bulk of state and local government revenues to the detriment of other agencies and public infrastructure.

The route 30 and 22 corridors to the east of the Burgh from Altoona to the City practice price fixing. There has to be collusion.

Maybe you didn't pay the indicted turnpike conspirators enough for more work ? Money is what created work in Gaming , Legislators ,Turnpike , Highway dept . It's always worked that way if you had a business and wanted work from the state .

Why would you open up where the money should go and to what union workers at this time ?

The pay for play is the contractors getting hit by the politicians.

After watching some of the floor debate and the screamers yelling about why the state shouldn't get out of the whiskey business refreshes to me why our founding fathers gave us the right to bear arms .

All of my taxes go to pay salaries and pensions of union operated conglomerates in collusion with State Representatives who rip off their part first and most .

I pay SS to the Federal Government but don't hold out any hope of ever collecting on it . It's been raided so many times it currently has the volatility of a Meth lab.

Combining the turnpike with the Highway Dept is equal to playing Keno.

The state house just squeaked passing the whiskey bill . Now the senate gets their slimy mitts on it . Watch for another 2:am money grab. 50% for me and we could give the teachers another 25%.

Tough teachers ,the whole budget wouldn't pay for your underwater pension .

No the windfall should go toward improving the paltry state employee and teachers pensions. How can they live on such poor pensions and low payment of their health insurances.

No I do not believe it - but you and I do not count because the politicians always cave in to the poor teachers and state employees unions.

You could be right (sarcastically). As we speak money is flowing from big labor and teachers unions to bribe legislative influence on how best to distribute money if the whiskey state stores get sold .

Or, more accurately, use them as political cover for their own pension and salary grabs!

If Joe Kennedy was around he would show you how to make money off a booze business.

He wouldn't have any pity on the bleeding hearts that are going to lose jobs benefits or care where they are going to get new jobs .

Our government cares about power , appeasement to the Muslims , oil and taxes to pay for all their misdeeds . The longer we let it go in they just might bury us .

If the elected officials would increase pensions for all state workors we could get off food stamps and other entitlements.
