His critics objections are lame, but neither is he the second comiand or the salvation of Pittsburgh, as you would imply. The practice of declaring "blankety-blank's day" is simple and utterly useless bullsh*t!

If you're not a Yinzer then just STFU because in Pittsburgh Yinzers are the only people and culture that are relevant to the City.

That first post by "theman" is like one big stereotype. He claims to be a college student but then types/writes like he's in junior high school. The other thing is that there is a perception that all young black men ever aspire to be these days are rappers or athletes. How about admiring a peer for becoming a plumber, an electrician, or a mechanic? All more realistic careers that require a high level of skill, a strong work ethic, and intelligence.

Blacks by their very nature are not mechanically inclined so you can forget promoting those kinds of careers because those simply aren't jobs that nature will allow them to prosper at.

These "flavor-of-day" honorees are only given accolades for the single day the honor is bestowed, Proud; however, the fact that he is a black hip hop rapper should not preclude the honor. And, besides, it's simply another meaningless and particularly inconsequential piece of political theatre generated by a man hoping to promote his run for mayor, and really has very little to do with da' Wiz. Chill, bro'!

Being from Phoenix, I can't believe that Pittsburgh is this ignorant. Its nice to exercise your freedom of speech, but, this is ridiculous.

You truly are "confused;" in da' Burgh, we take our constitutional rights seriously, and honor them absolutely! Our fundamenal freedoms deserve no less.

Is this in recognition of knowing two colors? Did he ever donate to Children's hospital or to the benefit of the sick? Anything for veterans? This is based on he travels the globe only?

Bo Dietl needs to take a break from Arby's commercials and ask, "really?"
