Whoop-de-Doo - wait until they begin to merge other things. The only way to fix things will be to hire more people and raise taxes. Long live the bottomless public trough!

Whoop-de-doo! So what do you suggest, old fool? Like conservatives in general, you offer ample criticism, but very few, if any, solutions! And consolidation/merger has been the mantra of the conservatives when approaching any problem, be it the high costs and duplication in public schools, public safety or government in general. Shall we now reverse that recommendation and return to over a dozen individual dispatch services? Un-merge the local school districts? Disband consolidated sewage treatment? How about we dissolve these United States and return to British rule! Or to really push your buttons, how about repeal of the Thirteenth Amendment to the US Constitution, ya' ignorant bigot! Long live the backward-looking orientation of the ultra-conservative, right wing-nut! The future is the past, tomorrow can be found in yesterday!

I notice that you never mention privatization? How about subbing the service out, eliminating the legacy costs, the politics of hiring, and the nepotism that comes with government.

But, as with all progressive Democrats, you prefer name calling and blaming rather than offering a solution for rational discussion. Again you prove your status as an "Obot".

Privatization? More accurately out: cronyism! You assert Democrats create jobs for voters... but Republicans seek only to create profit opportunities for their cronies, who create low wage jobs with pensions and other nefarious "legacy costs." Decent jobs for the 99% simply reduces profits to the 1%, fer gawd's sake! And if the Republican can eliminate one more job that pays a living wage with benefits, well, all the better! In an emergency situation, I certainly want my life in the hands of an untrained, low-paid, no-benefits flunky, so selected strictly so as to maximize profits, for that is the single overriding goal in a market system.

Well your highly payed and well trained public employee sure showed the young mother and the city how it is supposed to be done. If that's the result of public employees, God help us all.

My point, old fool, was that you couldn't tell the difference between the city and the county, or the mayor and the county executive. But what about the private pilots whose errors have crashed planes and costs untold lives, just to cite one example? You're such an azz, old man!

Private pilots, as opposed to public ones? Where did that come from???? It's happened, your open mind liberal approach has allowed your brains to slip out and get away.

911 service equated to private pilots, geez' hope you never need to be "life flighted". The liberal progressive mind, go figure.
