Do You Have the Right to Flip Off a Cop?

Full story: www.time.com

David Hackbart was mad and he wanted to show it, but he didn't think he would end up in Federal Court to protect his right to a rude gesture and demanding that the City of Pittsburgh stop violating the First Amendment rights of its residents.

Here's how that works in real life

A video of a guy walking up and flipping off a cop, then the cops reaction.

Thanks! That's a CLASSIC YouTube! I haven't seen that one in years.

I've always wondered if the cop in that video got in any legal or career trouble over his impromptu beat-down of that kid.

You may have that right, but really, is it a good idea??? Just how much abuse should police officers have to put up with??? We can all do as we wish, but every action has an equal and opposite reaction. We can do as we wish but many times there are consequences and repercussions. Just how much time does a person want to spend it court fighting this sort of thing??? Lots easier to let it go, get on with your life and not have to deal with the fall out.

My uncle, Fat Roman says that you are within your rights to flip off a cop. He also says the cop is then within his rights to cavity search you with his supermax flashlight in front of your children and their little friends.

"Oh, Mr. Fat Bob looks sooooo funny with that black flashlight up his pooper, Mommy."

How about as much as they lawlessly dish out? And that involves more than giving the finger.

You're within your rights, but that doesn't mean that some cops will not give you an a** beating or a tasering to teach you a lesson on how to respect the law...........even if the law is on your side.

Wow, nothing like taking my comment out of context. I'm not here to fight with you about this. Next time you get the chance, just flip off a cop and then we here at Offbeat can post about how it worked out for you.

He didn't even know he was flipping off a cop until afterwards. Apparently, he was that mad. And for the officer to punish someone for displaying a finger and not someone who is illegally parked, that is not right.

That's the entire point: We know even looking at a cop the wrong way will result in a beatdown. It's power mad lawlessness served up with a badge for protection.

Try to keep up with the rest of the class.

Some losers need to be bitch-slapped by a cop once in a while.
It tend to knock some sense into them and keeps them from getting into real trouble.
