Farmers: Pilgrim's Pride ruling won't erase losses
Chicken farmers in southern Arkansas who won a $26 million judgment against a poultry producer said their shares of the eventual award won't make up for the business they lost.

So, a Marshall Judge awarded chicken growers a settlement and Pilgrim's is appealing it. So, nothing has really happened. No money has exchanged hands and this could possibly go on forever. Let's get some other news story as this is growning old and will never be resolved. The East Texas area needs to focus on growing businesses in this down economy instead of trying to tear down the few that are left standing in these hard times.

I agree. The farmers are like any other people in business. They took risk trying to make substantial gains. The markets changed. The price of fuel went up, the price of feed went up and the price of chicken went down. Sorry, but Pilgrim's did not control this. Sounds like they want a government bail out to me. I thought we were living in the United States and Capitalism was the name of the game.....not Socialism.
